Had a replacement sent with the same kind of damage, I ’ m guessing it ’s a factory defect cause I ’ ve seen other reviews with the same issue. It does not affect the paddle and isn ’ t noticeable unless your stroking the whole handle. Would recomendable.

It ’s 50. 00 dollars so if you ’ re expecting it to be a bending branches pro angler paddle, you ’ re gon na be disappointed. I used this to kayak the Big Manistee River, smaller rivers, big and small lakes. I spend on average 8 hours at a time on the water and this paddle held up.

My old paddle did not have drip grommets and was too short for me. This paddle is both long enough and does n't drip on me with every stroke. I also like that it comes apart for stowage and easy transport.

My wife and I got kayaks for early Christmas presents so after looking online and checking reviews I bought two of these paddles. They are excellent quality and take up little space in the back of my subaru forester when the paddles are taken apart. Only negative thing I can say is I wish they were a little longer. Our kayaks are sit in and fairly wide, if you have similar kayaks you will want a longer paddle.
