I have played with a lot of set of irons and without a doubt the ping i230 are the most precise clubs I have ever gamed. They offer solid forgiveness and the distances are off the chart. The i200 ’s were good, these are excellent. Best irons for low handicap players IMO. Scratch golfers may prefer something a little more blade like and workable, but these irons are extraordinary.

I just was fitted and the i230 with the Ping Alta CB AWT S shaft was the winner. I have never played graphite shafts on irons, but the Alta CB won me over; it's a joy to hit them. There is enough weight where I can feel the club, and the impact is butter smooth. I feel likes it is less work to get straight distance. The ball does not veer offline much, even with a poor swing. I tested other graphite shafts, and steelfiber, but the Alta CB kept feeling the best and hitting my launch and spin numbers. I 'm looking forward to gaming these this year.

I 've been using these irons for two full seasons since they came out in late 2022. Back then I was fit for a new driver and just wanted to also hit some irons as my previous set was almost a decade old. Hit irons from many different brands, but no model could compete with i230. These irons really hit a sweetspot of looking great, but not intimidating to an `` average '' golfer. And while this is also true for some competitors irons, none of those achieve what the i230 does: it's very forgiving for its size and consistent because it was not designed to just hit low- spin missiles. Irons with similar forgiveness are always built with distance in mind while i230 is all about scoring and creating playable shots with enough spin and height. Even the consistency out of the rough and in the wet is outstanding. Plus, the yardage gaps are perfect through the set while other sets get bunched at the top end and/or have huge gaps in the short irons and wedges. Plus, they also feel REALLY solid. Not as soft as a one- piece forging but very satistfying. Best comparison is hitting a nail with a hammer. Not soft, but solid and powerful.

These irons give me consistency, I feel like the distance is predictable from club to club. They have a stylish non- clunky appearance, but are also forgiving. The ball jumps off the face so effortlessly that I do n't always feel like I hit it solidly, but then it is flying exactly where it should be. I 've been gaming this 2 iron for the past month or so. Helps when I 'm on a tee box with a narrow fairway and my driver is too risky. Have n't had a complaint yet other than it does launch a little higher than I expected it too. May be a problem on windy days but I have n't had many windy days to test it out. Golf galaxy also refused to exchange the iron set for a new one even though it was their mistake not wrapping the clubs. in General, A+ Irons, I think key aspect for anyone with a low- mid club head speed looking for distance, accuracy, and an unmatched Mizuno feel. I gamed the 923's last year after extensive market testing and claimed they could n't be beaten from a distance, accuracy, and feel standpoints. I was wrong... The most notable differences for me were the tungsten weighting in the newer 925s 7i- 4i really does help with getting longer irons off the grounds better than the 923s. If in conclusion, I would highly recommend, but I would tell a younger more budget conscious version of myself to stick with the 923s, as I only saw slight improvements in sets year over year.

My old clubs were cheap and outdated, so I went with the PING G440s, mainly because I ’ m a fan of the PING brand. And wow, I wasn ’ t disappointed! My first shot with the 5- iron soared 190 yards, a massive leap from the 160 yards I ’ d struggle to hit with my old 5- iron. Every iron in the set added at least 10 yards to my shots, giving me a huge confidence boost. I ’ m stoked to keep improving with my G440s, and they look awesome all shined up. One month ago I got ping G440 senior iron set I have played blades for years. I enjoy the accuracy of that, but have lost distance with the new Ping irons I have accuracy and the distance again and the size of the clubs and looks are great the game of golf is enjoyable again

After playing the 2019 P790s for five years, it was time to upgrade. With the newer 2025 P790s, I was looking for better distance on office center hits. With the newer P790s, I got the same distance as I wanted on off- center hits. I hit my 7 iron 182 yards, so I gained 185 yards with the new ones. Back in 2023, I purchased TaylorMade P790 4- PW. I have always played a `` Blades '' before then and recently realized I needed a change. I saw P790's and had to try them out. I did, and puchased a set. The only problem I had was a occasional `` flyer '' so my yardage was not consistant. Plus I found it harder to shape shots like I had with my Blades. I went in for a iron and wedge fit with no preconceived outcome. With a swing speed consistently around 90mph with a 7 iron these clubs just felt far better than anything else I hit. My yardages were extremely consistent, my dispersion was within yards, and ideal launch and spin. For me they are paired with Project X- LS shafts. The interesting part is that I had hit all other cavity back irons from the major manufactures. This was the only `` players distance '' iron in the test. In the end it came down to APEX pro's and Mizuno Pro 243's. Being my last two iron sets were also Mizuno I greatly appreciate an iron being soft and consistent. The APEX Pro was as soft and more consistent. Truly inspires confidence when I line up for every shot. I paired a complete set of AW- 4I with a 56 and 60 wedge set. These fly high with out excessive spin, stay on line, and offer a smooth swing weight. Give them some serious consideration for your next set.
