I bought my Rough& Tough IR 's almost 5 years ago and while I dont wear them often they have only aged like a fine wine. If I do n't wear them for a while they become narrow and tight but give them some heat or mink oil and they loosen back up and once they get hot from body heat they loosen back like my childhood baseball glove. Love RedWing and I will absolutely be a customer for life. Yes this is a real review lol

Great boot! I have been wanting a pair of these for a long, long time and I am not disappointed. I still need to break in some but they are getting there. Great leather and all USA made which is important to me. Thank you Red Wing for keep the American quality there and making us all very proud. I would like to add that I have been a Red Wing customer for four decades.

Picked a pair of Iron Rangers up at the West Chester, Ohio store. The craftsmanship, comfort and style makes this far and away the finest pair of boots I have ever owned. Also, the fact that they are made entirely here in the USA is extremely important to me personally. I 'm proud to be a Red Wing wearer!

This is my third pair Iron Rangers, and I must say this color is the best. Goes well with khakis or jeans. Highly recommend this boot.

This is my 2nd pair& absolutely love these boots. After the break in period, they fit perfect and are extremely comfortable. Had the soles switched out as for my job, the vibram lugs perform much better. Honey soles may not be for everyone but I ’ m Loving this color combo! Redwing… please make lugs an option!!

Although they make a women ’s Iron Ranger, I bought the men ’s because they are better quality( thicker leather and leather lining). P. S. Women want good stuff, too. 😉 I ’ m in love with these things. Thankfully, I learned online not to use mink oil, or the Amber will darken. Instead, I use Bick 4, which preserves the color. I added an insole because the interior comes very basic, but in terms of leather and construction, these are remarkable. Every day they fit better, and I get complements on them every time I wear them out. I ’ m going to make my husband go try some on because I ’ ve seen him buy leather boots for years that pale in comparison to these. So, the hype was real for me. I wonder if some of the people commenting about quality got fakes online somewhere? I can see know why people are obsessed with the 8111s. I travel a lot with work, as I am a publisher. I ’ m in and out of airports, cabs, on the streets of NYC, conventions, etc. I can ’ t wear these with my women ’s office clothes, but gosh, they make great travel companions. If I get a moment to wear jeans, I am in these boots. Thankfully, they are narrow enough not to look like clunky man shoes on my feet. I really want the Clara now, as it could be dressed up a bit more. Going to search the internet to see if there are ever coupons…

I bought my Iron Ranger boots 10 years ago as a getting- out- of- the- Navy present to myself. What could be more American than that! LOL. I have had them resoled at a local cobbler that has sadly since closed. Other than that, they have outlasted 2 pairs of laces, walked through 4 countries, and taken beatings in harsh New England winters. These are great boots— crazy comfy once broken in. I just wish they had the Vibram outsole on them.

I have these in black and brown. The brown ones were a little more stubborn to break in but they are coming along. I wear these to job sites and then to the office. They are rugged enough for the site, nice enough for the office and comfortable enough for me to put some 5 miles on my feet every day. Couldn ’ t be happier

I 've never been one to write reviews, but as I was spending time oiling my 12 year old 8111s tonight, it dawned on me that I needed to pay some respect to these old boots. I 'm trying to find a way to write a review about these without coming off as some weird dude with an emotional attachment to a pair boots, but we should probably just call a spade a spade, eh? I remember in college wearing them during pickup football games at ISU tailgates, and then every single day as I rode my bike to vet school, with my little one in tow in the Burley. They were with me on rainy days in Aarhus and have sailed the gales of Lake Superior in the fall. In veterinary practice, they have worked countless cows and have withstood all the combinations of bodily fluids one could imagine( blood spilling off the OR table onto my boots really adds to the patina). Harsh Minnesota winters and enough salt to rust the rockers of a 1500 have n't slowed them down. While also greatly decreasing their ability to track about fecal material of various unknown animals, their slick soles are a blessing in that they give me a handicap when playing football against my own kiddos, lest I have sufficient traction to show them how it was played in my day. We burn prairies and build decks, chop wood and chase roosters, then shine up the next day and go to church. There will come a day when they will have completed their journey, but at this rate I 'm not sure if I 'll be the one to see it.

Grabbed a pair for my son 6 years ago on a trip to the US. Wore them non stop for 2 years at college in the UK, during a his gap year and now 2 years into Uni. Had them resolved last year( the original soles had started to wear at the heals). The uppers have held up remarkably well and look better now, I think, than when he got them. Fantastic boot.

I bought my weekender over 8 years ago. Wear them everyday. Same soles and treated them like a work boot, camp boot and going out boot. They have held up beautifully. My only issue is …bring back the black and I will order more!!!!

Great fitting shoe. Comfortable pretty much right out of the box. Same American made Red Wing quality that has been boasted for years. Definitely recommend!

I have been looking for a replacement for a LONG time for my favorite pair of mid height chukka boots. I finally found what I was looking for! When I travel for work I need something versatile that I can dress up or down. They 're very comfortable and are a nice do it all thing. I did not have any issues with break in but I have worn a lot of footwear with a `` break in period '' so my feet may just be used to it. I would love to see some other colorways in this style, I 'd gladly buy another.

So cute and very comfortable! ... These boots are a perfect combination of style and comfort. ... There's a short break- in period as the leather softens but this is the most comfortable boot you can slip your feet

The front lip of the sole fails first, particularly if using these boots to walk in snow. Besides that, I would highly recommend and will continue to purchase.

[ I get these for my husband for work. He always ends up wearing them out but timberland is the only brand that lasts for a long time. He works in construction so on his feet building all day. They protect his feet and work great for them. Usually I get him a new pair every year.
