I 've had this boot for 2 weeks and it has held up well with hourly patrols which total around 15, 000- 20, 000 steps a day. Pair it with compression socks or nicely padded merino wool socks and you wo n't have any foot pain at all. I 'm 250lb so it should be even more comfortable for those people who weigh less and are in better shape than me.

I had a pair of Carhartt boots prior to these and the carhartts only lasted 6 months. I 've had these Timberland Pro 's for almost 3 years now. They break in fast, comfortable to walk in all day. They 're really warm in the winter, not too hot in the summer. Very good water proofing. Slip resistant is very good for oils, hydraulic fluid, fuel, aircraft de- ice fluid. There are only 2 complaints I have; the oem laces are complete trash and so are the oem insoles. The soles lasted me only 8 months and laces tore in like 6 months. Buy better insoles and Kevlar laces. I 've dropped parts& tools on my foot and did n't feel a thing. These are also really good boots for welding and using cutting torches. 10/10 must have boot for mechanics. UPDATE 7/20/24: the boots are STILL GOOD AFTER 4 YEARS of daily abuse in all climates and conditions. These are the only work boots I will buy the rest of my life. UPDATE 11/23/24: The boots lost their waterproofing. Ordered a new pair. I will forever only buy these Timberland Boondock boots!!

The `` Boa system '' is really cool. Instead of leather or cotton laces, it 's a wire system that tightens up to your comfort when you twist the button on the front. The boot liners had a bunch of animal fur stuck in them, and all over the outside soles. I sometimes buy previously used items, but only when I know that I ’ m buying used and can inspect the product first, and usually at a discount. I have used them a few times and they shed snow and water, and keep my feet pretty warm. My foot size is 8. 5 regular. The boot size is the same but it feels `` spacious ''. Not too long or short or even wide but ample- enough to accommodate a thick sock. My advice would be that if your foot is low volume or on the small side of the size like mine, order down, if your foot is high volume, order your size, and if your foot is on the high side, order up. A size 8 might have been perfect for me but might not have been roomy enough for thick socks. It 's a trade off. The boot leather is super thick but the boots were comfortable right out of the box. No break in required. So far they 're holding up well. The steel toe has not been a problem in the winter cold or summer heat. It is not a factor except when a chunk of wood slips out of my tired hands. I had to learn the need of a steel toe the hard way. I only wish Timberland attached a pull loop to the heel. They put one on their loafers but not on a 6 '' boot. Unusual. A loop would help with the on/off process. What would also help would be lace hooks in place off the top two lace holes. With lace holes the laces have to be pulled down and out to loosen them to widen the boot for removal. You ca n't just kick these boots off. Neither of the above nit picks is a deal breaker. I love these waffle stompers.

My foot size is 8. 5 regular. The boot size is the same but it feels `` spacious ''. Not too long or short or even wide but ample- enough to accommodate a thick sock. My advice would be that if your foot is low volume or on the small side of the size like mine, order down, if your foot is high volume, order your size, and if your foot is on the high side, order up. A size 8 might have been perfect for me but might not have been roomy enough for thick socks. It 's a trade off. The boot leather is super thick but the boots were comfortable right out of the box. No break in required. So far they 're holding up well. The steel toe has not been a problem in the winter cold or summer heat. It is not a factor except when a chunk of wood slips out of my tired hands. I had to learn the need of a steel toe the hard way. I only wish Timberland attached a pull loop to the heel. They put one on their loafers but not on a 6 '' boot. Unusual. A loop would help with the on/off process. What would also help would be lace hooks in place off the top two lace holes. With lace holes the laces have to be pulled down and out to loosen them to widen the boot for removal. You ca n't just kick these boots off. Neither of the above nit picks is a deal breaker. I love these waffle stompers.

I think I may have ordered a half size too small, the toes on my right foot feel a little crowded. It could also be that I am used to square toe boots, but all around they seem like a solid set of boots. The tread is good, the stitching seems tough, and the zipper on the back is a nice touch for making the boots easier to get on and off. It 'll be interesting to see how that holds up to flexing though. So far so good!

Love the boot so far. The composite toe is definitely lighter than the steel toe but they are comfortable right from the get go! I made the mistake of getting a half size bigger since my normal size is always a little tight with the thicker socks in the winter so theyre definitely too loose on my feet. I got these 2 years ago and yesterday I was at the beach with my wife. I wore these boots to the Santa Monica beach in CA. Before you ask, I hate sandals and shorts, I will not wear them. As I walked with my wife by the shore, I avoided the waves because I did not want my boots to get wet. Well, my wife was enjoying the ocean water when she thought it would be funny to hold me in place as the wave hit my boots. They got wet and submerged to about the 6 '' mark. My feet were dry. I was confused and surprised, they did not let any ocean water in at all. So I figured, why not and I pushed it further, with about 3 second intervals of waves, they survived. Until the water went above the 8 inch height and then my socks got wet, which is understandable. So I wanted to write a review because it deserved a review because it did a great job preventing water from getting in. It was kind of fun to be honest but the salt is not great afterwards.

I 've tried Red Wing, Timberland, Wolverine... these boots are the only ones that hold up to the daily beating that I give them. I love how durable they are and how easy they are to clean. I only have 2 small complaints, but being the best boots I 've ever owned... Carhartt will still get a 5 star review. 1. The laces need replaced after roughly 3- 6 months of use because they get shredded under the duress of tying and tightening your laces daily. 2. Being waterproof comes in handy often, especially when working outside. But it does mean that if you have sweaty feet, it keeps the sweat in too. Not quite as `` breathable '' as I would want. But like I said, I 've never found a boot to do a better job. So it is what it is.

These boots are my absolute favorite boots of all time. I 've had 6 pairs. I bought them once and have never bought a different boot since. They 're super light, super comfortable, warm in the winter, but still good in the summer... I hope they never stop making these.

I bought these boots for my partner as a late Christmas gift because he could n't decide which one to buy. He loves this boot. The best features seem to be comfort, fit, and warmth without getting sweaty feet. We have a small homestead in Northwoods, Wisconsin, and this time of year, we 're doing tree management and cutting firewood. He 's not worried about a log or tree limb falling on his feet because I could stand on the toe, and he did n't feel a thing. If you 're an outdoorsman or a Northwoodsman, you need this boot in your life. And I love how he looks in these boots-- like a sexy, masculine, bearded man. But then again, I love men on tractors, too, so...

[ This is my 5th pair of these boots over 13 years. I am a lineman and these take a beating g but hold up to the abuse. Great boot especially the winter. You won ’ t be wasting your money!

I have had these boots for 5 years. Humping through the snowy mountains of Vermont on the job. Taking them off and on tens of thousands of times in customers homes. They have gone under many houses, crawlspaces, and under porches. In knee walls and trenches. Put away so wet that my socks were soaked the next morning( step in knee high snow and any boot is gon na get wet). I 've only had to change the laces on one boot. All I ask is that my boots hold up to the abuse I put them through. I wore them untied during the summer even, and the backside of the inner heel has just started to wear through. Only on one side again! They are waterproof, durable, comfortable and dang if they do n't look good. I have n't even looked to buy a new boot since I got these and thank goodness I had n't rubbed off the tag yet. I hope they 're just as good 5 years later. I probably wo n't need a new pair until the end of this coming summer, still gon na stock up now!
