I ’ m really psyched to see Xtratuf add different outsole traction options to their awesome product. I was gifted these from Mrs. Claus. And received a size 11. I typically wear sizes from 10- 11 across most brands. I have owned the 6 inch deck boots for a year and found them amazing to put on in a second and bomb to the mountain or to kick start the snowblower to blast the snow out the driveway to get to the studio on time. At times, on ice and snow, the deck boots can be a bit slippery so added traction with edge syping would be a bonus in my environment here in Truckee. After try- on this boot does not fit the same way as the deck boot which I sized up. 5 size with and the deck boot model is roomy. These boots however cramp my toes in the same size. If I size up from 11 the next size is twelve. I recommend ordering two sizes to try on. These seem to run a size small whereas the 11 fits me as if it ’s a 10.

Right out the box I took them on a 7 mile with some water crossing that I unfortunately hit a loose rock and dunked my one foot but the shoes didn ’ t miss a beat, they dried back out in no time. No blisters even with no break in and super comfy right out the box. I own two pairs, the tactical and the regular. The regular got this annoying squeak from the insoles after the first hike but now at about 50- 75 miles it has faded, the tactical( which I ’ m at about 250 miles on and still going strong) has no such issue as they do use different insoles in them. Either way a great shoe for hiking and everyday comfort. Wear em on a slippery water hike and watch your friends fall as you stand there comfortably and securely.

The boots are great! Handled spring time in Colorado so raining, ice, sleet and then snow all in one day. I mucked horse stalls and had very warm feet while doing that chore. This will be used for putting docks in the water in the Spring. Definitely seems like it will keep me warm. Fits ok for a guy that ’s a little under six foot, two hundred pounds. But it seems a bit cheaply made. The padding on the knees are not very thick and there is a little tab of velcro at the top of the zipper to prevent the zipper from working it ’s way down. It ’s not really needed because there is the velcro mock collar tab above the zipper on the neck that already covers the zipper. I ’ m going to remove it

They look great, feel more stable than the 8 ’s, and have a little more toe room. All have worn well unless I try to take them off without undoing the laces, or scrape them on concrete. I wear mine daily. I have narrow feet with exceptionally high arches. I ’ ve put them through two years of hard wear, including two deployments. They ’ re great for field work, and surprisingly, they can handle the “ intense ” conditions of office life too( perfect for all you back office people who think walking to the water cooler is a workout!). I bought these with skepticism- Nike usually has good looking shoes, but often underdeliver with quality and functionality. These shoes get the job done. I purchased with the intention of wearing them in the weight room- no desire to run and/or jump in them. They provide excellent ankle support and a wide toe base so that you 're able to get your feet set before every lift. The firm sole provides little toe bend, which I appreciate. I would n't recommend them if you 're wanting to run, they 're heavier and on the clunky side, but think they 're well suited for a lifting or HIIT type shoe.
