purchased from nike, not Dicks. But i have seen a lot of non- typical reviews that may dissuade someone from giving these shoes a chance. I have over 300 damage- free miles on these shoes and i am just now looking at getting a replacement pair. not due to damage, but just due to the zoomX foam losing its `` springiness '' which is typical for it over time. I started wearing these shoes coming from wearing nike free's for years and just wanted to give something else a try that is lightweight and without a carbon fiber plate. These shoes will not `` destroy '' your ankles if you are already adept to wearing a minimalist- style shoe. These are not true minimalist, but they are very lightweight, lighter than my minimalist shoes, and have a very low heel- toe drop. Both of these specs can compete with minimalist shoes. Coming from wearing minimalist shoes, my ankles, feet, and lower legs are strengthened to adapt to the less cushioning and stability. If you transition to these shoes straight from wearing `` traditional '' trainers, there will be an adjustment period and you may decide its not for you. That is not a knock on the shoe, but more of a characteristic of this style of shoe. I transitioned to these shoes pretty seamlessly from my Nike frees. Streakfly's are the lightest shoe Nike makes, and extremely flexible. Like wearing socks. This is what i look for in a shoe, and something to consider for anyone looking at giving these a try. It is a very fast shoe, but it will lose its responsiveness over time due to the exposed ZoomX foam. They can still be used when this happens though. I am not happy that Nike decided to add a carbon fiber plate to the new Streakfly's, although Nike did make the shoe even lighter. I uses these shoes as a daily trainer and do not want to run with a carbon fiber plate every time, this can cause injury. i am currently looking for deals on these shoes from other sellers because they are not for sale through Nike anymore and i want to pick up another pair before they are completely gone. Bottom line, if you are someone that is already used to wearing a lightweight, flexible shoe, with low drop, you should really give this shoe a try. If not, there will be a transition period before you can wear this shoe all the time. When i transitioned to minimalist, i went through several shoes of gradually decreasing weight and drop in order to let my body strengthen and acclimate.

I ’ m not a fan of hard sole shoes and pure running shoes aren ’ t as supportive with weights. These do a good job of distributing pressure while lifting as well as walking. A few triangles of synthetic material seem to be somewhat breathable. The forefoot is flexible and roomy, for the balls of the feet and the toes. Good ground feel and ‘ touch ’. The only thing that I 'm disappointed in is that I did n't try these until right before the Vaporfly 4 replaces them. Absolutely loved these on my marathon training long runs and looking forward to wearing them in my first marathon. The stitching is perfect, and the combination of breathable fabrics make the shoe sturdy and I know will stand the test of time. The color way worked out excellent as they match his favorite team( Go Raiders!). As far as comfortability, he states they are 9/10, not being his most comfortable pair but very close. They are easy to clean off and the laces are the perfect length. The only complaint he had was the toe box is different than most of his other shoes and he had to get used to the feeling of his toes springing up with each step, but now it doesn ’ t bother him at all.

The toe box is roomier in width and height than other Nike shoes I own which allows for excellent circulation and comfort. They definitely fit true to size. Returned to running after a 40 year break. Six months in I decided to run a marathon on five days notice. I got these because they are supposed to reduce fatigue and make recovery faster. I ran sub- 4 at age 57 with six months of training and a five day taper. The next day I had no problems running six miles. Hey if you are looking for comfort and performance out of your shoe. This shoe is one of the best cushion shoes next to the Nike signal d/ms/x. Especially on the treadmill it gave me extra cushion and spring with every step. I run about 3 miles a day on treadmill so it was a wonderful experience even out the box with no break in.

Love the arch support on these and the price point. Although they ’ re not the best looking shoe to wear, this shoe is definitely made to put in work. Minor slippage on my right foot as it ’s slightly smaller than my left foot. Toe cap is not your average Nike narrow one. It is a little wider( assuming it ’s for when your toes expand while running). They fit differently, but if I were to go. 5 smaller my big toe would definitely hit. I went true to size and I always fit into their narrow shoes( Nike).

Alphafly 2 has been my only running shoe, so I ’ m sorry to see it appears to be on the way out. I hope the 3 is just as good. I love the booty fit without the need to deal with a loose tongue. Grab the loops at the top and back to slip on more easily. The laces did dig into the top of my feet, but problem solved with a Lydiard- style lacing( see photo).

Never ever had a problem with the alpha fly. I ’ ve worn them for the last 3 years or so and love them. I have a really bad knee but I honestly don ’ t suffer with it when wearing the alpha flys because of the cushion acts as a shock absorber. Love them and all the colours

Please, Nike product team, if you ’ re reading this. Make this shoe into a BASKETBALL shoe. I ’ ve written this review 3 times but it hasn ’ t shown up- apologies if this is redundant… Great lateral stability but below average energy return when bouncing, sprinting, jumping, etc. all this shoe needs is a full length zoomx midsole or a combination of zoomx and zoom heel/toe pads, softer outsole and a reinforced padded tongue. If done, Nike would have a premier basketball shoe that would rival the GT and Nike signature lines.

HOLY. COW. I ’ m a Nike regular. I ’ ve previously purchased and wore numerous releases of the REACT line and figured I ’ d spend the extra on this release. Let me tell you that the cushioning on these from heal to toe is beyond comparison. I ’ m a coach, and on my feet for long hours, mixed with jogging, walking across gym floors.
