I 've been using the gore- Tex trail shoes with Currex high arch insoles for more than a year of consecutive daily running. I was doing more trail/gravel running til late winter& switched to the track for later runs. This is my first carbon plate Nikes and I ca n't believe how much faster& lighter they feel on my feet. Of course now I want to try the vapor/alphas as well. I have really high arches and it is like they made this shoe to fit me perfectly. I may end up putting my insoles in but I had not even needed them for my first week of runs in them. I 'm definitely going faster than I 'd even imagined. Great shoes. I 'd love to see more colorways. I actually worked in them the first night I got them and had several complements. I felt like I was Tigger from Winnie the Pooh bouncing around the hospital all night.

I ’ m relatively new to road racing( having done just one half marathon this year) and this is my first carbon shoe. My warm up mile was light and breezy in this shoe and my speed work was definitely faster than normal. I struggled to run slow in these shoes for my cool down mile- your feet turnover fast in these shoes. I did have to size up a half size from a 7. 5 to 8, but super pleased after just one run. I worry that the 8mm drop is a little too high for me to use on long runs tho, but we ’ ll see.

After putting them on the shoes were super comfortable very spongy and supportive. Took them out for a 3 mile run the next day and they were amazing, responsive, no heel slippage, feet weren ’ t sliding, and honestly make you want to go faster. purchased from nike, not Dicks. But i have seen a lot of non- typical reviews that may dissuade someone from giving these shoes a chance. I have over 300 damage- free miles on these shoes and i am just now looking at getting a replacement pair. not due to damage, but just due to the zoomX foam losing its `` springiness '' which is typical for it over time. I started wearing these shoes coming from wearing nike free's for years and just wanted to give something else a try that is lightweight and without a carbon fiber plate. These shoes will not `` destroy '' your ankles if you are already adept to wearing a minimalist- style shoe. These are not true minimalist, but they are very lightweight, lighter than my minimalist shoes, and have a very low heel- toe drop. Both of these specs can compete with minimalist shoes. Coming from wearing minimalist shoes, my ankles, feet, and lower legs are strengthened to adapt to the less cushioning and stability. If you transition to these shoes straight from wearing `` traditional '' trainers, there will be an adjustment period and you may decide its not for you. That is not a knock on the shoe, but more of a characteristic of this style of shoe. I transitioned to these shoes pretty seamlessly from my Nike frees. Streakfly's are the lightest shoe Nike makes, and extremely flexible. Like wearing socks. This is what i look for in a shoe, and something to consider for anyone looking at giving these a try. It is a very fast shoe, but it will lose its responsiveness over time due to the exposed ZoomX foam. They can still be used when this happens though. I am not happy that Nike decided to add a carbon fiber plate to the new Streakfly's, although Nike did make the shoe even lighter. I uses these shoes as a daily trainer and do not want to run with a carbon fiber plate every time, this can cause injury. i am currently looking for deals on these shoes from other sellers because they are not for sale through Nike anymore and i want to pick up another pair before they are completely gone. Bottom line, if you are someone that is already used to wearing a lightweight, flexible shoe, with low drop, you should really give this shoe a try. If not, there will be a transition period before you can wear this shoe all the time. When i transitioned to minimalist, i went through several shoes of gradually decreasing weight and drop in order to let my body strengthen and acclimate.

I just bought my fourth pair. I wear them all the time, short sprints, long distance, ive worn my current pair throughout training for 2 half marathons and one half race. I guess they wear out quicker than average shoe but i keep running in them and rejecting my `` normal '' running shoes that give me calluses on my big toe. I have arthritis in my left big toe joint, and tendonitis on the top and inside of that foot. I have been struggling to walk without increasing pain for the past 6 months, and have not been healing. The only thing that I 'm disappointed in is that I did n't try these until right before the Vaporfly 4 replaces them. Absolutely loved these on my marathon training long runs and looking forward to wearing them in my first marathon. Wow. These are awesome. I ran my last half marathon in the Pegasus trail, and I was less than impressed. I went to the Wildhorse but felt those needed more cushioning. When I started doing road races in the vaporfly, I was really hoping that Nike would do some sort of vaporfly hybrid shoe for trails and I feel like this is it! I took it right out of the box on a 7 mile adventure, with about 2k feet of vert in the first 2 miles and then a downhill 3 mile run on a fire road, before hitting 2 miles on pavement. They performed superb. They are ultralite( 6. 5oz in my size) and have a super wide toebox, which is unlike most Nike products. This means that you ’ re not gon na get any pressure on your toenails and they ’ re not hitting up against the front of the shoe. They ’ re super breathable and the carbon fiber plate definitely gives you a little propel forward. I ’ m so excited that Nike finally got a contract with Vibram because the soles are incredibly grippy. I don ’ t know how this shoe would do on super technical terrain, considering it is a race shoe, so it ’s meant to be fast and agile. But I don ’ t know if it would protect you from kicking a rock or hitting a rock with anything near your ankle. You ’ re definitely gon na feel that. I ’ m all in for taking this on my next race and super excited to see how I perform in this shoe. I love that there ’s no break in time with Nike ever and I ’ m really happy to see that they have stepped it up with their trail running shoes. We needed this!

If yours squeak, try some baby powder between the insole and sole. I think these have a glued down insole if remembering correctly, but i think i peeled them up in mine. Put baby power between the layers and try to get it to go between the sole from the upper and the foam of the cushioning/midsole where they are sewn together. Sometimes there are vent holes as well. If you get them really wet/dry and that gets washed out it will return some eventually but you can redo it. Ive had several different styles of squeaky shoes and this works. The squeak is between the upper sole and midsole and not the outer sole and the ground like most people think. That is why they squeak on any surface. Had these shoes for about a year and a half now and used and abused them. Feels pretty much as good or better than pegasus i had, although it is hard to ever get a direct comparison. Ive worked and walked a lot in them and usually feet feel as any other shoe Ive ever had. I coach and do a lot of outdoor work.

I ordered these because I had been wanting some tan running shoes to walk or jog with my dog, go to the local riverwalk, etc. I basically wanted something that would be functional and also look good with shorts or leggings. When I tried these shoes on I was absolutely amazed at how comfortable they are. Hands down the most comfortable pair of shoes I have ever owned. I also did not realize that the tan shoes have a sparkly/glittery section around the heel that is SO cute and really glistens under lighting at night. I want to buy a second pair of these just in case something happens to these. I ’ m 6 ’ 5 270 lift weights daily with cardio and these DN ’s have been fantastic. They feel really soft as far as weight distribution but solid on the treadmill. I ’ m not a fan of hard sole shoes and pure running shoes aren ’ t as supportive with weights. These do a good job of distributing pressure while lifting as well as walking. The colors look good but for me as a big guy comfort is key.

I haven ’ t been so comfy in a new pair of shoes since the Nike Waffle One; As someone with flat feet, over pronation, and out toeing, it sucks trying to find not only aesthetically pleasing sneakers, but also comfortable ones. And these DN8, just like the Waffle One are just perfect! With the Waffle One, I need an insole to feel comfortable to the max, but these DN8 have a low heel, high arch insole which have my feet sitting comfortably. I will probably end up getting more colorways.

Alphafly 2 has been my only running shoe, so I ’ m sorry to see it appears to be on the way out. I hope the 3 is just as good. I love the booty fit without the need to deal with a loose tongue. Grab the loops at the top and back to slip on more easily. The laces did dig into the top of my feet, but problem solved with a Lydiard- style lacing( see photo).

Never ever had a problem with the alpha fly. I ’ ve worn them for the last 3 years or so and love them. I have a really bad knee but I honestly don ’ t suffer with it when wearing the alpha flys because of the cushion acts as a shock absorber. Love them and all the colours

Returned to running after a 40 year break. Six months in I decided to run a marathon on five days notice. I got these because they are supposed to reduce fatigue and make recovery faster. I ran sub- 4 at age 57 with six months of training and a five day taper. The next day I had no problems running six miles. Nineteen days later I ran a half in these and set a post- high school PB in the mile, 2 mile, 5K, 5 mile, 10K, 15K, 10 mile and half. In these shoes, I run like a different person.

I usually run on Brooks, still do, but the first time I tried Alpha fly3 on the treadmill in Paragon, I knew they were going home with me. I bought my 2nd pair in 3 weeks! I love it not because it makes me run faster( cuts off 20- 45 seconds/mile) but it really hugs your feet well. No break in period. Truly fits like lotion. I 'm thinking of 3rd pair!
