I bought two of these and keep thinking about buying more. I use this chair most frequently at dispersed campgrounds where I want to be able to quickly take items in while I 'm away from the site. I got a second one because it's so compact and easy to have on hand for friends who do n't have as much camping gear. More often than not, I 'm wishing that I had another one or two because people always seem to underestimate how nice it is to bring chairs camping and they co- opt my seat when I get up. Several friends have bought this chair after using my extra one. The convenience factor really grows on people by the second time we camp together. They want their own to toss in their camping gear bins. You do n't have to remember about packing a more luxurious chair that does n't even fit in the bin and then it taking up more space in the trunk. It's not the most cushioned chair in the world, but its still a good one to add to the arsenal. The points to attach the seat to the frame are very stiff for the first dozen or so uses, but it gets more pliable in time without becoming so pliable that it's concerning.

I have both the standard model and this one, the improvements on this one are great. I ’ m 6 ’ 2 ” 230 and I think the picture of the gentleman in the photos section does a great job of setting expectations, bigger people won ’ t really be sitting, more lounging. For something the size of my water bottle I ’ m pleased with the comfort. I love not needing to carry the extra case for this model. With both this and the other one wind is an issue. Being this light the back is a sail when you get off of it so it can be concerning if you ’ re sitting near a fire or water. I prefer this model because you can set your water bottle on the base and not worry about losing the chair if it ’s breezy.

[ We 've taken 3 backpacking trips since purchasing these chairs, and they 're now the one luxury item that we refuse to go without. Are they heavier than one of the foam or blow up cushions? Absolutely. But after hiking all day with a heavy pack, it's heaven to sink into a comfy chair at your campsite. They set up and break down quickly and easily, and we love the feet on this chair in particular. Some of the sites we 've camped at were very sandy or muddy, and the Joey felt very stable. We 'll be taking these to the beach as well once we 're able. I have no doubt they 'll perform well there too.

I never thought I 'd be so surprised and impressed by a camp chair. Over the last many years camp chair designs have funneled into a few archetypes and this chair first seemed like just another ultra- light chair among many. But every time I used it I liked it more. The matt/stowaway bag is what really sets it apart for me. The matt holds the chair legs and keeps them from splaying, making for a more durable/stronger chair( a common weakness among ultra- light chairs). It also prevents the chair legs from sinking into sand or loose soil( perfect for a 7- day beach backpacking trip I took this summer). I love being able to recline the chair with the suspension system. Chair goes up, chair goes down, all night around the campfire. Overall, I think this chair is unilaterally superior to all other ultra- light chairs and most regular and car camping chairs.
