I 've been using this bar for several days now, and I have to say, it's a really great bar and is holding up to snatching/jerking overhead and dropping it just fine. The sleeves spin very nicely, the diameter( 28mm) is great for hook gripping with smaller hands like mine, and the knurling is differential. The knurling on the inner portion is less aggressive and gets very aggressive on the outer portion. This is a phenomenal bar, especially for the price. The only thing I would change is to add a center knurl.

For those that give this bar lower than a 4- star rating because of scratches, I urge you to revalue your workout regiments. “ You don ’ t by power tools because they are pretty, but instead to get the job done. ” The ethos bar does just that “ get the job done, ” yes I admit it goes get scratch marks on them, but honestly it ’s a tool, not a show piece that sits behind glass. I personally can not say it works at 1000 lbs. capacity as per my height and weight class 600 lbs. is all that I care to goal myself towards. As for now it handles 405 lbs. perfectly. For future buyers please understand that this is a tool, not to be babied, and if scratches are your concern, then take up something else.

Recently bought the 205# bumper plate and barbell Set and honestly am pretty happy. Plates are solid and have been getting a lot of use the last 4 months. My only complaint comes from the color And pattern of the barbell( Black with a camouflaged type etching), makes me double and triple check my grips while lifting, but honestly that ’s such a minor complaint.

This is one of the best weight bar you can get for maximum performance. I used one of these in my early 20s and I weighed 170 pounds at 5/7 inches tall and I got to the point that I could lift 300 pounds off the floor and over my head with ease. I am now 48 and have started lifting again and after two weeks I can see huge difference in my biceps and triceps. I weigh 205 now but plan on cutting weight and I should be able to get back to the 29 inch waist I had in my 20s with the right exercise and nutrition. But I was hesitant to order the Body Solid bar because the reviews for the 5ft bar indicated it was covered with an oily/sticky coating that was difficult to remove. I was greatly relieved that was not the case. It was wrapped in plastic inside a hard cardboard tube. Quick and easy to unpack. Both the Olympic bar/bumper plates totally fit my requirements. I like this original Hex Bar much better than the bigger version because it takes up way less space with the 10 inch sleeves rather than 16 or more. The knurling is perfect and I love the 25mm grip plus the rigged sleeves so the plates do n't fall off easily when the bar is maxed out on weight. Some critics will complain that you ca n't add more than 500 pounds or so with 10 '' sleeves but unless you 're a strength athlete that weighs 250 or more I do n't see the need.

Decided to give the Ethos a try and glad I did. For the price, this thing is way better, padding was more comfortable, the handles are solid stainless steel, very high quality. Being rated for 1000lbs is overkill for me and probably most people. Do n't waste your money on the versions, very happy with this.

Shopped around for some farmer carry bars and what drew my attention to these besides the great price was the knurled grips that I did n't see most if not all of the others. I ordered them on a Friday and they were delivered on Wednesday. The packaging was in good shape and there were no flaws in the finish of the bars. The bars weighed in at 22. 2lbs each on my bathroom scale. There is 12 '' of sleeve length which will allow for plenty of weight. They came with 4 spring collars which is a good thing because standard spring collars are too big. But less than standard olympic sleeve diameter seems to be the norm with all these carry bars. I did find that my hex collars will also work on them, just not as tight as on an Olympic bar. I 'm very happy with the purchase and ca n't wait to try them out.

The more I read about farmer's carry, the more I believe it should be a major part of everyone's workout. It activates essentially every muscle group, including working cardiovascular strength, and especially targets forearms and traps. I got these bars on sale but they 're worth it even at full price. I 've been using them every day, alternating heavy carries one day and lighter the next, just added on to my normal workout for the day. You have no excuse to not own a pair. Seriously.
