They do take some care to unravel but if you 're careful when you pack them up each time it's not really a problem( we 've used them over 10 times with no issues). After much trial and error, I have found that the Moji Lantern is the best overall for use in the Boundary Waters- they are rouged and have found that they stand up to a high water/wet environment. This little light puts out just enough light to be fun and eliminate the need for a regular full light that would attract bugs easier. My only wish is that you could order a longer one. Perfect little safety device. I do wish that there were directions, as they are not intuitive to use. Press and hold the power button for 5- 8 seconds to turn on, and same to turn off. Most folks will simply assume tat their new light is defective instead of pressing and holding the button down for 8 seconds. Set it on flash and it is easy visible in the dark from a quarter mile away. Put one on the strap of your running cap, and clips second one onto the front of your collar, and your protected coming and going.

[ This thing SAVED on my last move. Packing my U- Haul took longer than expected, so it went into dark. The fact this thing is magnetic and has spot OR flood is huge. I was able to stick it to the U- Haul and had plenty of light to pack the entire truck for multiple hours on one charge. The spotlight isn ’ t kidding when it talks about its distance, I can light up the house at the end of the block and then some. It ’s nice it also has a low red light so you don ’ t have to obliterate your night vision if you need just a little light. The switch on the back allows you to change modes without even turning it on, and the pocket catch allows you to hang it off your pants while you work if you don ’ t need it. Good all around headlamp in terms of weight/brightness balance. Favorite feature is that the continuous brightness adjustment is remembered when powered off/on, so I do n't have to keep readjusting it.
