I bought the grey color for a trip to Europe where I 'd be doing a lot of walking, and they were super comfortable right out of the box- never caused blisters, and the cushioning is just right. They were very versatile, especially in the neutral grey color, and I could use them for daytime walking as well as slightly dressier dinners in the evenings. The tread on the bottom was great for a few mild trail hikes as well as walking through the cities. I got lots of compliments on them, and a few ladies in our group purchased them while on our trip because they liked them so much. They are a good length, maybe a little bit too wide, so not perfect but better than the size 9. They are very comfortable.
