I have been wanting this kayak rack for a long time and finally bit the bullet and ordered it. I am so happy that I did! This is a great kayak rack! I am a 5 ’ 3 ” woman and I can load my kayak on top of my compact SUV by myself and be ready to roll in about 20 minutes. Although I liked the product, I had to return it because the ratchet strap length was too long for securing my jet ski. The ratchet would have been against my ski which obviously wouldn ’ t work. I would buy these again if needed for securing a motorcycle or other gear.

We have used this rack for 2 trips. It does not lock, but is east to remove from the crossbar to be stowed inside the vehicle while we were camping. The rack is compact so that we were ae to carry a kayak and a canoe on our trips. After a 5 hour car ride, the vessels were still secure and stable. Excellent product.

Nice quality, this mounted perfectly on Toyota OEM crossbars as the bracket is about 4 '' wide. I suggest putting the straps on the rack 1 kayak at a time and start with loading the side of the vehicle with the rack farthest away( if not centered) as it is easy to get them tangled and bunched over each other. Also, if you have an SUV you will be hopeless putting on 2 kayaks by yourself if you are under 6' tall. I bought my rack second hand( used once) from a shorter person with a big SUV.

We have used the Thule Compass many times and we love it. The only issue is that it does take a while to load and secure boats. Not a huge deal and should get better with practice.

I bought a SUP and I drive a veloster and do not have a roof rack. I used this on my bare roof and traveled about 25 miles with speeds up to 60mph. It is easy to install only took minutes. I wasnt even able to center the SUP on top of my veloster because of the antenna in the middle of the roof of my veloster and it still held my board in place.
