The sole was a little stiff for me at first but they softened after a couple wears. I typically wear a size 6 but I tried on size 5 as well. I was more comfortable with the 6. Bought these in light pink color not color shown here. Have worn these several times since purchase. Footbed typical Birkenstock. Higher platform a little different getting used to than the regular Birkenstock sandals. Comfortable enough after wearing the few times that I 've worn them. Do n't think that I would wear to walk a long distance though. Regular flat ones are better suited for that! I usually wear a 7 in shoes/sneakers etc but in Birkenstock/Papillio I always wear a 37/6- 6. 5 which is what I purchased. Overall happy with purchase.
