I became a member of the Patriot Guard Riders after they escorted my 97 year old father to his graveside service. Daddy served as a Navy Signalman during World War II. One of the members told me to purchase a quality 3x5 foot flag and get a telescoping flag pole. He sent me the link to this flag pole. He told me it was a good price and looked like it would work well for me. Most Patriot Guard Riders travel by motorcycle and their flag pole collapses to fit into their saddle bags. Since I travel by car to join the Patriot Guard Riders when the group does a Flag Line, I just put my flag in the car. It holds up well when the wind blows and it is sturdy. It is light weight and easy to use. I highly recommend this flag pole. ENJOY!

I have a few of these in different lengths. They are always with me overlanding( aka car camping) since they work for a multitude of different applications and tasks. With a group I setup a very large silnylon tarp for a communal/ cooking space and these give extra height and shape where needed. On solo camps I use the same tarp but as a vestibule on my tipi and these again help to create a nice sheltered entryway to my tent. They 're also very well made with excellent construction which is important. They have a handsome finish and can handle the elements thrown at them. I am likely going to acquire one or two more since I keep finding myself looking for another tree or two to tie off or having to stake down diagonally when I 'd prefer the height these afford. The shorter one, I think it's 5' length, extends surprisingly far for how nimble it is and small that it can pack down, but the next size up, I think it's 8' length, comes in quite handy it just is a notable size- up even when broken down for storage. Ca n't go wrong with these poles.

I never have used hiking poles before but decided to get them in place of ski poles to help me with walking and snowshoeing during my knee replacement rehab. These trekking poles performed very well. I have used them on numerous hikes, to include the lower half, or non- technical part of the climb of Mt. Rainier. They stowed well when and survived the abuse of being strapped to the outside of my pack for the rest of the climb. I also used them on the rim- to- rim hike of the Grand Canyon. Make sure you purchase the appropriate baskets for the hike on which you intend to use them. Also, check the friction locks before you head out on your first hike. They may need slight dialing in, or tightening with a standard Phillips screwdriver. Quality Black Diamond gear as always.

I want to thank Leki for these great Cressida Cork Lite poles which they provided to me at no cost in fulfillment of a warranty for another pair/different model that had a defect. These poles are sturdy and light and give me confidence on the trail, even on steep inclines or descents. It's very easy to change the length of the poles as needed and I like the women- specific sizing since I am on the petite side and do n't need more pole length than necessary. The cork grip is very comfortable! I was n't sure how I would feel about a cork grip since I was previously used to a foam grip, but I think there's actually more stability and palm to pole contact with a cork grip. I am also not used to aluminum, which is indeed stiffer than carbon, but I think it's worth it to choose aluminum for Leki's great warranty. Leki stands behind its products and I will only buy Leki poles from now on. Thank you!

I purchased my original Leki Cork Lite poles back in 2015, and they survived an entire thru- hike on the Appalachian Trail. If you need a quality trekking pole, I can highly recommend these after using them for thousands of miles on trail! I love the comfort of the cork handles. To top it off, the customer service at Leki is simply the best. They recently went above and beyond to help me replace a part on my older poles.

Great trekking poles- semi light weight and comfortable grips. Good adjustment mechanisms and lock reliably. With other poles I ’ m worried about straining too much backpacking weight and bending them, but I took these up Mt Baker and Mt Rainier( w/ opposing ice axe) and they were sturdy supporting 60+ lbs on my back. I wish they packed down a bit shorter( minimum length) for easier travel, but overall they ’ re great

Very nice poles! Have used them on some big mile days and the grips are superbly comfortable and I really like the minimalist straps. The fit/finish is excellent and no slipping from the locking mechanisms so far. Only issue I can find is that they feel somewhat flexy and do have a slight bit of vibration that you can feel during use as compared to the set of carbon poles I replaced these with. Minor things overall and they don ’ t seem to hinder the poles performance in the slightest. Overall very satisfied and a nice set of poles.

These are replacements for poles that I had for more than 3000 miles. These poles lasted through many adventures in the desert Southwest and through the mountains in Colorado, Utah, and Wyoming. I watched all of my fellow hikers on the Appalachian Trail go through 2 to 6 pairs of trekking poles, but my poles lasted until after the 2200 miles traveled to Katahdin. They broke on the descent. I loved those trekking poles and I am thankful I had them!

I have not used this set yet, but I already have the same model that i 've been using for the last 3 years. Each year I put at least 500 miles of use on them and it was n't until a few weeks ago that it was time for a new set. The reason was n't because they wore out but because I was off trail going through a very rocky area and I slipped and fell. One of my Poles was in between two boulders and it bent as I put all my weight on it to stop my fall. I was able to bent it back and they are still usable but it just became annoying to try to collapse them all the time with the slight bent. My other Pole's tip was slammed and pushed into the pole during the fall, but again, still usable and i 've used them on many hikes after the fall. I love them and are very durable so this set are the exact same as my old ones because I like how durable and tough they are.

I bought my first Distance Carbon FLZs way back when Black Diamond first offered them. I used them in all kinds of desert hikes, big mountain summits( Mount Whitney, Grand Teton, Granite Peak in Montana, Gannett Peak, etc,), all hard going and a LOT of pole abuse. My second pair ditto. Then two days ago I came hustling down 2, 000 feet from a peak in Oregon, in brush, scree, and snow, and one pole broke internally and came apart. Can you understand my anger when I only got 11 YEARS out of those crappy poles??[ Just kidding, of course.] I have other Black Diamond poles for snow, etc., and I do n't look anywhere else for top hiking/climbing gear.

These come in at 11. 3 ounces for the pair. The handles are comfortable and provide a couple of hand placement options good for gaining and losing elevation. The straps are also fairly comfortable and the amount of basket attachments is nice to have for a variety of weather. I 've put around 150 miles on them backpacking rocky and hilly Western and Central Pennsylvania and the tips have held up well so far. You 'll have to play with the locking mechanism on the pole so they do n't rattle with each stride, not a big issue though. I 'm mostly a hammock camper but occasionally use a trekking pole style tent. These poles held through a windy storm with a very strong pitch on the fly. Ultralight and strong at a great price!

My P. T. Advised that I buy these, due to my balance problems. I am almost 78 years old and find that I can move around in a more confident way. For the most part, I use one pole in my daily life; but if I am on uneven ground of any sort, I use both poles. I am very happy with the results of this move to a more stable way of getting around. I would suggest this to anyone with balance issues. Canes and other devices do not allow for standing/walking in “ perfect posture. ”

So far so good with my new trekking poles. My first pair served me well for 3 years. I broke one this winter coming down from South Double Top in the Catskills. My new pair is an improvement. The cork handles are more generous in overall circumference which fit my hands better. The lock mechanism is a vast improvement over my first pair that incorporated a retractable collar which collapsed on me when i reach too far down on the pole when ascending a step climb. I` m very pleased with my new trekking poles. Kudos to Black Diamond for making such a great product. Happy Trails... Mick

I ’ m a trad climber that always seems to pack heavy. These poles have changed my approach time and difficulty by a lot. I love them. They pack up nicely and height adjustable.

Love these poles. Previously had the Alpine Carbon Cork. These feel very light but solid. Easily collapsable and has the best hand grips out there. The cork is so much better that the foam on some of there other models. I also like how the M/L grip is a bit larger which feels good in the hand. Ive heard some reviews that the locking pin sometimes collapses under pressure but mine have been fine. Skip the higher priced carbon flzs and get these! Also the color on the website looks more orangy/red but they are a true red in reality.

I 'm very happy with this purchase. The only recommendation for improvement I can make is that the cork handles come unsealed. Since these are going to be used heavily in a wide range of weather conditions, from the hot Arizona sun, Monsoon rains, and even snow, I felt it essential to seal the cork to ensure the handles hold up to the use I plan on giving them. I recommend UV- 40 cork seal. I have used it on fly rod handles I have made and it works perfectly, and lasts many, many years. Make sure to follow the application instructions on the bottle. Apply one good coat using a bristle brush. Make sure you do n't have any drips, runs or sags. Do not apply a second coat, as it will not penetrate.

Great value and high quality. These are definitely a little heavier than the carbon fiber poles from Cascade Mountain Tech, but i dont think I will be breaking them.

Just purchased these poles after reviewing my health issues. Being a diabetic for 57yrs I am developing some balance issues. Researching canes I discovered how anti- postural they are, plus clumsy. An elderly neighbor was seen walking with trekking poles. I thought that was a good idea. I purchased my set from a chain sporting good store and got some walking shoes as well. Studied how to properly fit and use trekking poles. The experience is natural when set up correctly. Walking gate and posture are enhanced and I look forward to many walking excursions. I live in the intermountain west which is perfect location to use this valuable tool.

I love my poles. I have n't had much experience with trekking poles in about 15 years, but these fit the bill. A greedy little bush pulled one of my snow baskets off, and is more likely operator error( not putting the baskets on tight enough?) than the poles.
5
Karina K.
Love that these collapse and lock small enough to fit on the side of my pack without sticking out. They ’ d even fit inside larger packs. The snow baskets are also really easy and quick to put on and take off.

[ There are my first hiking poles and I am really enjoying them. The extentions stay in place securely are are quick to adjust. The cork is comfortable and absorbent, I am a very sweaty hiker living in a high temperature area so it important for me to have a secure grip. I only wanted poles with cork grips. I am enjoying how the poles make my hikes more of a full body workout than not having any and my knees are much happier. I have already caught myself one with a pole when I would have slipped on some risky ground and my stream crossings are more secure with more limbs. The carbide tips are very reliable at finding purchase along the trail. I am trying to get my husband to buy a pair for himself. He is only 2 inches taller than me and these were a good value. An investment in our joints and hiking safety.

Literally used these poles for the entirety of the Appalachian Trail. Tips were worn by the end but that's usual for a 2200 mile journey. The fact the price is so good for the durability is great. One downside( and thats just because its carbon fiber) is they can snap easier. Had that happen to me a couple years ago when I crossed a stream, jammed it between rocks and slipped on it. But considering they survived 2200 miles means they are great as long as the user doesnt do something stupid.

I 've had these trekking poles for over 3 years now and they 've performed at the same level as my more expensive poles. I originally got them as a backup to my Black Diamond trekking poles that I 've had for 12+ years as I got tired of having to change out the boots when I alternated from concrete to gravel trail, which is how I use the poles most of the time. In 2021 I took these on a 5 day hiking trip in Olympic National Forest and they were great! The flip lock mechanism makes it very easy to collapse and expand the poles as they went in and out of my daypack. Since then I 've used them seasonally on trips to Colorado or just the local gravel trails when it's not too hot. For the most part I do n't really collapse them- they stay expanded in my garage, ready for use. Another review mentioned these making a noise- I have n't experience that ever. The cork grip is great if you have a smaller hand. My only complaint is on the straps, which there is a limit on how small you can tighten them due to the stitched felt padding.

We hike several times a week and go ~10 miles each time. These poles are never not in my hands. They have saved me from serious injury on several occasions. I have neuropathy in my left leg/foot that causes drop foot. I took a fall going down a cliff and the poles caught on a tree and stopped my fall. I had broken ribs, wrist and thumb, but it would have been worse if I hadn ’ t had the poles. Amazingly, the pole was still working perfectly and I still use today! We decided to purchase an additional set for each of us a couple years ago, and interchange using the sets. Couples we hike with also have Cascade poles, which speaks highly on the quality of the product! We have decided to purchase 2 more sets so we can keep a set for each of us at our 2nd home. In total we will each have 3 sets of poles. Similar poles cost 3- 4 times more, so save your money! Don ’ t hesitate purchasing these trekking poles. You won ’ t regret your decision!

My wife and I have used these for years for hiking. Then two years ago she had a knee replaced and uses one Trekking pole for stability. She is a medical professional and keeps her Trekking pole by her side as she makes her rounds. She has become a poster child for your Trekking poles as many of her patients have asked where she purchased them. They all remark how light they are and how they are able to fold up. Best poles we have ever used. And yes we are still hiking! She now needs to order new “ gym shoe tips ” because she has worn down the tread!

I love these poles. Have had them for 4 years and have abused them from ski slopes to summits of Whitney, Izta, Orizaba& Toluca. I was suspicious of how they 'd hold up to serious abuse, but they 've held up beyond expectations.
