I want to start by saying that I have been a loyal follower and buyer of Salomon boots for as long as I can remember. For at least the past ten years, I have worn them every single day. I replace my boots annually—not because they wear out or break down, but simply because I love the feel of new boots. In fact, I still have all of my previous pairs, except my very first ones( which I should have kept as well). Each pair continues to serve me in different ways. When I first purchase a new pair, they become my work boots, while the older ones transition into hiking boots, allowing them time to break in naturally. After about six months, I begin using the newer boots for hiking, always carrying an extra pair in my pack in case I need to swap them out—usually due to an issue like water getting inside. Let me emphasize that under normal conditions, these boots do not get wet inside. However, if fully submerged underwater—which I have done on several occasions—they will absorb moisture. When this happens, I hang the wet boot on the outside of my pack to dry while I continue my journey. I can confidently say that Salomon makes outstanding boots. They have been an essential part of my adventures, and I highly recommend them. Great boots, great company, and great experiences with Salomon!

I am ordering my 3rd pair, I wore out my 2nd and glad that I can get another pair, they are light, they fit perfectly, I use a shoe horn to shoe in( a deer antler from a spike that I shot way back). Great narrow profile easy on trails and if I need to climb or walk on rocks or boulders great positive feeling. If and when they get wet they dry fairly quick. I am hoping they keep making this model, since this has been around for a few years now.

[ When you find a pair that fits you as if it was made for you. You stick with them. Usually, brands tweak things over the years so when you need a new paired, you ’ re screwed! These are a classic. The first pair I bought myself in 2014, side by side with their replacement that just arrived today. Pulled them out of the box and it was like meeting an old friend that hasn ’ t changed a bit. The fit and feel, perfection. Now, I literally hiked the soles off of the old pair. The toes cracked. Laces frayed but original. Should I have replaced them awhile ago- I did with the charcoal version. But kept these in my closet as a remembrance of my first pair of hikers that took me through the PCT AT.
