My first pair of KEEN Hiking Shoes. I like the quality of the shoe as well as the fit. Very comfortable and durable.

5 Michael G.
These boots are very comfortable and are great on snow. I will say that they are sometimes a little slippery on wet surfaces.

5 Will G.
Keen shoes are the best! I ’ ve tried other shoes and I ’ ve got to be honest that nothing compares to Keen!

5 randall p.
Don ’ t love the color but there ’s seems to be a limit on colors if you need a specific size. Otherwise I like the shoe.

5 Kristopher R.
[ I was finally happy to see a wide light weight hiker from Keen. For awhile most of their light weight hikers never came in wide, so this is very welcome. The shoe overall is well build with solid traction. They are sneaker comfortable out of the box but I do wish they had slightly more arch support. The lack of arch support was solved by using a Keen foot insert, the k- 10. Tons of room the toe box too.

Has a very soft touch on the bottom of the shoe. Haven ’ t gotten To try them out yet but the seem pretty sturdy for a first time buy.

5 Benjamin
Got these because I wanted vegan running shoes and this was the only running shoe that was listed in that category. It says its a cross between a trail runner and hiking shoes and does work for jogging, far nicer than my vegan sambas for that. Wish you guys would add more street running shoes tho, would def pick some up real quick if you added some. These are big but I think that's the point, lacing them up tight let me jog in them with no issues, actually felt super nice and bouncy for jogging; these have a ton of cushion compared to sambas.

5 Cfadave
[ This is a stable, supportive, athletic shoe They did not require any break- in and we ’ re super comfortable out of the box

5 Rodiles
100% recommendations, this is the best product for me

5 rockntrumpet
Was looking for a low profile hiker I could also run in and this has the combination of rugged durability and quickness.

5 Greg Y.
My second pair of mountain 600 ’s. They fit fine just like my first pair and feel great right out of the box. I walk an average 4 miles/day on pavement. I wear the 600 ’s from November to May here in PA and I got about two years out of the first pair before the soles wore out. Highly recommended!

5 Tim D.
Nice boots, no break- in time necessary. This is my 2nd pair, I outgrew the first pair after 5 years of wear and they were still in good shape.

5 Andrew N.
Very comfortable out of the box. And great looking boot! So nice I ’ m afraid to wear them hiking, but I ’ ll get over it:)

5 Dirk D.
Great boot. Comfortable right out of the box and fits true to size.

[ I got these a month ago and am very happy with them. The price is right and I 'm a huge Danner fan. True to my regular Danner size of 12. They also look really nice.

5 Dennis
[ Amazing boots that fit well, very little break in time. I am marching like I was in Afghanistan again. I am absolutely in love with the stability, the toughness and the seriousness of these boots. Such An amazing product for such a cheap price. I ’ m shocked they aren ’ t totally sold out.

5 Vlad34
[ Extremely comfortable and great quality. My first time wearing them was during a weekend trip to the mountains- had them on my feet all day, wore them around town, and then went on a 3 mile hike through dirt, mud, and some shallow stream. They were extremely comfortable and didn ’ t need any break in, plus they kept my feet dry. All the mud washed off very easily with a light brush and some warm water the next day. They run true to size.

4 Wiley
[ Got them just as the weather turned. They ’ re not lined but the quality materials really do a great job of keeping the heat in. Comfortable fit with just enough room for a pair of woolly socks as the weather gets colder. Traction is great. Not the best I ’ ve had for ice but still great. All around great boots, I ’ m really happy with my purchase

Frequently Asked Questions For Low Profile Hiking Boots

Low profile hiking boots offer a more lightweight and flexible design, making them ideal for day hikes and shorter trails. Their lower cut provides increased ankle mobility, allowing for a more natural stride. Additionally, they often feature breathable materials, enhancing comfort during warmer weather.

Low profile hiking boots are versatile and can handle a variety of terrains, including well-maintained trails, rocky paths, and light off-road conditions. They are particularly effective on moderate inclines and uneven surfaces, providing adequate traction without the bulk of traditional boots. However, for extremely rugged or technical terrains, a higher cut boot may be more appropriate.

When selecting low profile hiking boots, it's important to consider both length and width for a comfortable fit. Many brands offer specific sizing guides, so checking those can help. Additionally, trying on boots with the socks you plan to wear during hikes can ensure a better fit, allowing for adequate toe space and preventing blisters.

Low profile hiking boots are typically made from a combination of synthetic materials, leather, and mesh. These materials provide a balance of durability, breathability, and waterproofing, depending on the model. Look for boots with reinforced toe caps and sturdy outsoles for added protection and traction on various surfaces.

Many low profile hiking boots are designed with waterproof features, making them suitable for wet conditions. Look for boots that include waterproof membranes or treatments to keep your feet dry during rainy hikes or when traversing through puddles. However, it's essential to ensure that the boots are also breathable to prevent moisture buildup from sweat.

When using low profile hiking boots in different seasons, consider the temperature and terrain. In warmer months, breathable materials are crucial for comfort, while in colder seasons, insulation and waterproofing become more important. Additionally, traction is key in snowy or muddy conditions, so selecting boots with appropriate outsoles can enhance performance year-round.
