Great update to this shoe! I 've been wearing Konseal( former) version for the last several years and they are by far my favorite. The leather version has been stable on the trails but nice looking for the office. This version has a more capable design for varied terrain. These are actually for hiking, but after looking at the shoe and trying them, I took a gamble thinking they would serve me well for my use. I work in an automotive detailing and aftermarket shop, and do a ton of walking back and forth and the floor is constantly wet from washing and use of detailing products. Another thing I really like is how well they keep small rocks and debris from getting inside the shoe, which makes a huge difference when hiking on gravel trails. The upper is easy to wipe clean after a hike, and the QuickLACE system works really well. It ’s fast to tighten, holds the shoe securely, and stays snug throughout the hike without loosening. Overall, these shoes are lightweight, comfortable, secure, and very practical for hiking. I ’ d definitely recommend them, especially for anyone who spends a lot of time on rocky or uneven trails.

Super comfortable, probably more comfortable than the prior generations of mid x- ultras I have. They would be 5 stars if laces had “ hook clasp ” at top of tongue like x- ultras. I could leave them tied at perfect length and simply slide laces into clasp and go where as with these you have a long skinny lace you have to tie/ untie every time& like 9 ” excess lace you then have to tuck out of the way.

The waterproofing is great for the slushy winters we get here in the Midwest. I typically wear a 2E shoe, so I was pleasantly surprised when this fit well as a 10. 5M. Took about a week to break in, and once broken in, feels great. The traction is awesome, no worries about slipping on the ice. The shoe makes it easier than a boot to take on and off, but I 'd use a boot to shovel the driveway or walk through heavy/deep snow. This is good for walking on icy roads and driveways. I 'm a big fan of Keen's pragmatic sense of style. The toe cap means I do n't have fear of stubbing my toe. Also, it's a great feature when you kick the tire wells of your car to get the disgusting snow that accumulates that after driving for a while and you wonder if removing this snow actually makes a difference performance wise.( But once it drops it feels satisfying like you actually fixed the car.)

Love my mid Targhees that I wear hiking and backpacking so I thought that I ’ d give the low Targhee a try for ease of entry everyday use. Same fit as mid. Just happy that I found a shoe that my wide, high instep, high arch feet are comfortable wearing. These are my go to shoes. I just hope that Keen doe not ever discontinue. It added weight to it, but it is still really lightweight in comparison. Always very warm and durable, just wish you would make this exact shoe with a taller top for better ankle support. For having been rocking a competitor brand that's very cushioned, I 've been experimenting and wanted to give these a try. I 'm not hip on the zero drop or whatever chatter. I 'm very basic and oblivious to the jargon. I let me feet tell me if they like a shoe or not. I 've already taken these puppies on some monster trails and I do n't feel pain or discomfort after being on my feet for so long. From a mean 15 miler with 4k in gains at Great Basin to a 10 miler with 3k gains around Mt Charleston. These shoes still look fresh and are keeping me happy! I service center pivot irrigation systems during the summer and have had a pair of these for 3 months now. We do a lot of walking through fields and mud and climbing. [ I am in love with this hiking shoe. I have been looking for something that is great for summer, but will be a heavy hitter in the fall and spring and I think I found it. This shoe is very high quality, there are lots of extra details added to make it more rugged and dependable in the outdoors. I found them to be very lightweight, extremely comfortable, and I could hike in them all day with no issues. There was no break- in period, they were good to go from the first time I laced them up. There is a nice extra bit on the ankle which provides some stability, while being soft and not too rigid. It also keeps out debris. The traction is beefy and strong, I had no issues when heading up or down the mountain. I love the chunky look of the shoe, it is very modern and I am very pleased with the design. My feet locked in and I felt very confident and stable while hiking. They fit rue to size and have nice room in the toe box, did not feel cramped at all. I ca n't wait to use these all summer long, I would highly recommend to anyone looking for a hiking sneaker.

Comfort wise, the shoe is amazing. Starting with the upper, the shoe is breathable and the added ankle cuff just hugs perfectly and feels very secure. With socks, I did not notice any hot spots or blisters happening but I can see that occurring if you 're wearing no show( which I assume most trail runners/ hikers will not) with this shoe. The toe box feels wider but not to the point of needing to size down. I noticed that the extra width just makes the shoe more comfortable over uneven terrain. It allows your foot to really spread and remain planted. The midsole feels squishy but is not unstable. If you 've worn any of the recent running shoes by Nike that utilizes Zoom X technology then you know that pillow/ comfort feeling, its surprising at first to have such a springy/pillowy shoe but you get used to it quick. That experience is no different with this trail runner. What really impressed me with the Zegama is the vibram outsole. It just gives you so much traction, it's almost a nuisance to wear on regular concrete. It is n't raining in my city now but I 'm excited to try these out then. Overall, this is a great shoe. Buy with confidence and use them on the trails! 10/10.

I bought my second pair of these approximately a month ago. My last pair I used to backpack the Himalayas twice, Colorado, North Carolina and North Georgia. I also used them as my go to hunting boot as well. They 're heavy duty and it taken care of will last for years and years. I brought the leather back to life on mine using mink oil several times. They look good with a pair of jeans as well and make a great statement when worn in. I hated to let my other pair go and buy another pair but they served me well for over a decade. After several multi- hour hikes over the past few weeks in prep for a Patagonia trip, they ’ re performing well and feel fantastic. The wearing experience is as close you get to running show comfort while being a fully capable backpacking boot. If I had to criticize them; the tongue material can bunch up when putting them on if you don ’ t pull it up/distribute it before lacing. I have a wide foot and often boots and shoes are snug so I have to size up. I typically wear a 9. 5 or 10. With this boot a 9. 5 fit great. The boot is light weight and very comfortable. Shockingly so. I have read comments that these are not the `` hard core '' hiking boot type- and thats probably true. But if you want comfort with some warmth and protection from the elements I would recommend giving these Danners a try. The quality is certainly built in. I do get compliments on the boots when I wear them.

I had just received my trail glove 8s and absolutely love them! I have owned every generation since Trail Glove 4, which were my favorites. After Gen 5, it seemed Merrell scrapped the wider toe box of the Trail Glove which severely reduced comfort; the Gen 6 and 7s were tighter on the sides, not to mention ugly. These return to the wider toe box, improved arch support, and it seems they reinforced the sides to prevent tearing( which was a problem with the gen 4s and 5s). Not to mention they look nicer than the previous two Gens. I 'm giving these five stars, however time will tell if they are durable. But for now, I 'm satisfied and highly recommend.

This is my second pair. As I get older, I find my feet need more help than they did in the past. I have been walking g 5- 6 miles per day and have recently discovered the barefoot style of shoes. These Trail gloves, while perhaps not as flexible in the sole as some other brands, really feel good on my feet. Plenty of room in the toe box and zero drop adhere to the barefoot style. Also the stack height is just right for me as it protects from sharp rocks. One of my absolute favorite features of these shoes is the burrito tongue. It ’s genius! Typical tongues on other shoes tend to roll to the outside of my feet and become off center, making the. Uncomfortable. Trail Glove 8s do not! Nor do the Vapor Glove 7s. These are a winner for me!

Thank God you got the burrito tongue back. I 've been nursing a couple of TG- 4's in hopes these would come back. I 've had spine fusion and the burrito tongue makes it so much easier to put shoes on. Back flexibility becomes an issue. The denser sole helps a great deal for long days on my feet. Merrell barefoot shoes are all I wear. Keep these.

Good boots. Light weight, good fit for me. I often have difficulty getting a just right fit. The Targhee has been a good boot for me in the past. The Apex version continues that tradition for me. Also have had a couple pairs of low top Zionics. I like them but the Apex fits me a bit better. A shade more toe box room. I would n't mind even a tad more. I will likely replace the Zionics with low top Apex shoes at some point. At 69 my feet are more particular than they once were and Keens keep me comfortably on the trail. Primarily woods trails, big hills and small mountain use. Use these as an everyday shoe also.

Columbia is by far my favorite brand of hiking boots/shoes because they always just fit me really well, and this boot is no exception. The Newton Wander is a good looking and comfortable hiking boot. I do n't feel like it needed any break in period, and I wore mine as my daily drivers until the arches were shot. I always left them tied, but could get them on and off quickly by looping the laces on and off of the top couple sets of hooks. Even after they were worn out and the soles were worn down, I kept them around and wore them a couple more times to do some landscaping work and rebuild a retaining wall in my back yard. They can really take a beating!

This boot the sizing has changed slightly they are smaller in the toe box. I went with a half size larger but I probably could have stayed with my regular size 10 and just broke them in. They are to me a light version on the quest boots that are much heavier and clunck than these. I 've bought a few different salomon hiking boots over the years and you ca n't go wrong if you are a day hiker with these they are agile and do n't slip dry or wet they get the job done and protect your feet in every situation. I like these a lot: They have a nice wide/not too wide footprint. They have good ankle support. They have great traction. They are very comfortable. The waterproofing worked well( as it should because they are new). My only complaint is that padding on the ankles makes them pretty wide at the ankle and that tends to catch debris and funnel it down into the shoe... so they are not my pick for places where there is a lot of trail debris.... or perhaps I should have used gaiters. But they are perfect for wet, slippery, or dry trail conditions and casual wear. To me, the picture makes them look like they have green trim: They are shades of grey, not green-- I was pleasantly surprised by that, and I think they are a good- looking pair of shoes.

Bought these boots for a five week trip to Europe. Wanted to take only one pair of shoes and these looked good enough to suffice for casual, functional enough for all weather, supportive enough for lots of uneven terrain situations and light enough to support all of the walking. Traveled via train all over Europe from southern Italy to Edinburgh at elevations from sea level to over seven thousand feet. Wore these boots every day with 7 to 10 miles walking each day. They performed flawlessly. Delivered on every expectation and then some. I can ’ t say enough about these boots. perfect lightweight hiking shoe for the outdoors. I took these to Alaska on vacation and put them to use. Hiked trails, mountains, roads, rivers, explored tidepools you name it. all around a great shoe. I would recommend pairing these with a good insole if you plan to use them for long periods of time as the bottom of the sole( outside the shoe) is very rigid and durable, but at times the stiffness and hardness can be felt on the bottom of your foot.

Overall so far these shoes have been great. The couple times I 've been outside in the rain they 've kept my feet dry. I find that they have a bit of a narrow fit, so I do feel that they 're a bit tight on the sides. However the support in the sole of the shoe is nice and comfortable.

These are my first norvan's and they 're running pretty great out of the box. I 've put quite a few kms on this on some crunchy terrain around Banff and throughout the river valley up in Edmonton. The drop is great and not too aggressive and I find it supportive for the running I do. I 'm normally a 9US, 42EU and I found that I was tossing up between the 8. 5US. I would recommend playing with the sizes as I feel I would n't hit it right on the spot with my normal US 9. What I really like is the sole- it's super grippy on the snow and rough ice- compared to the sole on the vertex alpine last year. It has given me a lot more confidence to do my spring and winter runs this year.

The new LD4 is my first Arcteryx shoe and it ’s great. The sock lining makes it fit like a glove. Very light weight. Made for the trails and great traction. I would highly recommend this shoe to anyone looking for a shoe with cushion and traction.
