So far I have about 65 miles on my pair of morphlites. They are one of the best shoes I have ever owned for the price. The upper feels very durable and substantial without being hot or stiff. The sole provides a good amount of cushion under foot. I have noticed minimal compression lines in the sole within my 65 miles on them. It appears larger in stack height than they actually are which if you are missing minimal stack shoes in the sea of high stacks these are an awesome option. The tread is not Vibram which keeps the cost lower but it is still a nice rubber. The lug pattern and shorter lug depth makes them great on roads but, in my opinion they really shine on gravel and fire roads. They have more than enough trail cred that you can take them on some beginner trail running too. I will say that when I attempted to take them on so real trail runs they definitely did not feel great but, that is certainly not what they are designed to do. I give kudos to merrell for coming out with a solid hybrid trail/pavement shoe.

[ I was finally happy to see a wide light weight hiker from Keen. For awhile most of their light weight hikers never came in wide, so this is very welcome. The shoe overall is well build with solid traction. They are sneaker comfortable out of the box but I do wish they had slightly more arch support. The lack of arch support was solved by using a Keen foot insert, the k- 10. Tons of room the toe box too.

perfect lightweight hiking shoe for the outdoors. I took these to Alaska on vacation and put them to use. Hiked trails, mountains, roads, rivers, explored tidepools you name it. all around a great shoe. I would recommend pairing these with a good insole if you plan to use them for long periods of time as the bottom of the sole( outside the shoe) is very rigid and durable, but at times the stiffness and hardness can be felt on the bottom of your foot.

I had just received my trail glove 8s and absolutely love them! I have owned every generation since Trail Glove 4, which were my favorites. After Gen 5, it seemed Merrell scrapped the wider toe box of the Trail Glove which severely reduced comfort; the Gen 6 and 7s were tighter on the sides, not to mention ugly. These return to the wider toe box, improved arch support, and it seems they reinforced the sides to prevent tearing( which was a problem with the gen 4s and 5s). Not to mention they look nicer than the previous two Gens. I 'm giving these five stars, however time will tell if they are durable. But for now, I 'm satisfied and highly recommend.

This is my second pair. As I get older, I find my feet need more help than they did in the past. I have been walking g 5- 6 miles per day and have recently discovered the barefoot style of shoes. These Trail gloves, while perhaps not as flexible in the sole as some other brands, really feel good on my feet. Plenty of room in the toe box and zero drop adhere to the barefoot style. Also the stack height is just right for me as it protects from sharp rocks. One of my absolute favorite features of these shoes is the burrito tongue. It ’s genius! Typical tongues on other shoes tend to roll to the outside of my feet and become off center, making the. Uncomfortable. Trail Glove 8s do not! Nor do the Vapor Glove 7s. These are a winner for me!

Thank God you got the burrito tongue back. I 've been nursing a couple of TG- 4's in hopes these would come back. I 've had spine fusion and the burrito tongue makes it so much easier to put shoes on. Back flexibility becomes an issue. The denser sole helps a great deal for long days on my feet. Merrell barefoot shoes are all I wear. Keep these.

So far these have been great in the cold, snowy winter. They seem to be waterproof as advertised and are relatively comfortable. Been trying everything from trail runners to hiking boots, and always have knee pain due to meniscus surgery and metatarsal pain especially on pavement or downhill. So far I 've only hiked about 10 miles in these, but it's the first 10 miles without pain in years! Fit wise, I have low volume, long arch, c width feet with all the width at the toes. I sized my normal 11. 5D and while an 11 would have fit, the 11. 5 felt better. No issues with foot slip, no hot spots. Shoes are squishy, but return energy such that they do n't feel soft. Great for pavement and trails. Well done, Danner.

Water resistant enough to splash through some light streams, and did really well in sandy conditions. I wear a 10 in most brands( my go to running shoe brand in Brooks for reference), and these fit great with hiking socks. These are more of a lightweight boot/heavy duty running shoe than a true boot, but that is my preference. They seemed like they will hold up well over time, and I am very pleased with my purchase.

As soon as I received Merrell's email about these several weeks ago, I was intrigued. I really liked their look and style; plus being waterproof was also a benefit. As soon as I saw that they had gone on Merrell's Holiday discount, I grabbed a pair at a great price. I 've been wearing Moabs for years and they have all been exceptional. I did notice that the footbed under the ball of my foot seemed to be a bit thinner than my other Moabs. However, it might simply be that these Moab 3 Luxe have a more aggressive tread. Either way, after a day or so the footbed cradled to my foot, and I 've been delighted. I still do need to get used to the newer thinner slightly flatter laces, and do wish they were a few inches longer.

Got these because I wanted vegan running shoes and this was the only running shoe that was listed in that category. It says its a cross between a trail runner and hiking shoes and does work for jogging, far nicer than my vegan sambas for that. Wish you guys would add more street running shoes tho, would def pick some up real quick if you added some. The waterproofing is great for the slushy winters we get here in the Midwest. I typically wear a 2E shoe, so I was pleasantly surprised when this fit well as a 10. 5M. Took about a week to break in, and once broken in, feels great. The traction is awesome, no worries about slipping on the ice. The shoe makes it easier than a boot to take on and off, but I 'd use a boot to shovel the driveway or walk through heavy/deep snow. This is good for walking on icy roads and driveways. I 'm a big fan of Keen's pragmatic sense of style. The toe cap means I do n't have fear of stubbing my toe. Also, it's a great feature when you kick the tire wells of your car to get the disgusting snow that accumulates that after driving for a while and you wonder if removing this snow actually makes a difference performance wise.( But once it drops it feels satisfying like you actually fixed the car.)

The shoe has much improved features. I ’ ve had each iteration and am glad they tossed vibram on it. Kudos to Altra for listening, these shoes are super durable. Only thing that could make this slightly better is a layer of vibram like the lone peak+ fully covering, and longer laces. All that said, they ’ re great, just got a second pair. I love these as a one quiver trail shoe.

So I started by ordering my normal Altra size: 11. This was perfect length wise until I did an abrupt stop in the store. My foot slid all the way forward and jammed my big toe. The width was too small. Then I tried the 11. 5 and neither issue existed. Now that I have the size dialed in, it is all good. I normally wear stability shoes in 11 wide( Paradigm 8 and Guide 19) for the road, and the Speedgoat 7 in 11. 5 wide in trail shoes. These just have a different kind of ride and fit to them compared to these other shoes, and it is very refreshing. In the 11. 5 size, it is the normal wide toe box Altra fit that feels closer to a zero drop with a softer landing. I live in Reno, NV, and for my typical weather, the grip has been excellent. No hot spots or blisters, and the heel locks down tight with runner loops. The laces are just long enough to relieve a little pressure on the top of the foot if I don ’ t heel locks, which is nice. The shoe breathes moderately. Some reviews I ’ ve read said the tongue was wonky. That hasn ’ t been my experience. It is definitely possible to get it to sit wrong, but you really need to work at it to do it. I will admit, however, it is a comfort focused tongue, so if that isn ’ t your thing, then……….. I have two complaints about the shoe so far, and both are fairly small. The laces could use another couple inches for a heel lock, and they need to change the profile of the laces. I can ’ t get these laces to stay tied if I really get after it. I replaced mine with slightly longer oval laces, and that fixed my complaint. My other complaint is about the lug depth and pattern. Getting to 5mil lugs and the pattern of the lone peak 9+ would make this shoe absolutely unstoppable. They are two very different grip experiences despite both being Vibram. Overall, these have been a great buy for me and my use case. I am not breaking land speed records, and I am not doing Ultras, but my 4- 6 mile adventures over plains, single track, rocks, light mud, steep climbs/descents, and minor pavement has been enjoyable. For context, I am 5 ’ 9 ”, 224 lbs, moderate fitness( Hyrox capable), and mid thirties with no major joint problems.

Good boots. Light weight, good fit for me. I often have difficulty getting a just right fit. The Targhee has been a good boot for me in the past. The Apex version continues that tradition for me. Also have had a couple pairs of low top Zionics. I like them but the Apex fits me a bit better. A shade more toe box room. I would n't mind even a tad more. I will likely replace the Zionics with low top Apex shoes at some point. At 69 my feet are more particular than they once were and Keens keep me comfortably on the trail. Primarily woods trails, big hills and small mountain use. Use these as an everyday shoe also.

I 've been researching hiking boots for several months and Asolo's products kept coming up over and over as the premier choice among experienced hikers. I was impressed by the loyalty of Asolo customers, and liked the look and reported performance of the Asolo Fugitive GTX Boot. Initially, I purchased the same size as my other boots, a 9 1/2. Upon the first test fit, I knew they were too small and returned the pair for a half size larger. The size 10 fit perfectly, but I will caution that these boots run a bit narrow( I do not have particularly large feet). Asolo thoughtfully offers `` wide '' sizes as well. I christened my new pair of Fugitives by taking a 33 mile trek on the Appalachian Trail in North Carolina in early March. The trail had a good bit of snow, ice and mud. Temperatures during the three day trip ranged from 17 to 64 degrees( F), and included periods of rain and snow. The boots performed beautifully in terms of thermal and waterproof qualities. Also, these boots are very easy to put on, which is a plus when going for that 1am potty run in the cold. My only criticism of the design is that the insole is made of an extremely hard material. By day three, the balls of my feet were hurting pretty badly, and definitely detracted from the enjoyment of my trip. Adding an extra layer of socks helped marginally. I 've never experienced this problem before, so, upon arriving back home, I compared the insole to that in my older boots. Big difference; my older( HiTec) boots( which are falling apart after 15 years) have a much softer insole. I love the Asolo Fugitive GTX Boot, but will definitely add a gel insole prior to my next trip. These are, by far, the nicest( and most expensive) hiking boots I 've ever owned, and would definitely recommend them to others, but with the cautions regarding the sizing and insole material. I hope to add a couple thousand comfortable miles to these boots in the years to come.

I like these a lot: They have a nice wide/not too wide footprint. They have good ankle support. They have great traction. They are very comfortable. The waterproofing worked well( as it should because they are new). My only complaint is that padding on the ankles makes them pretty wide at the ankle and that tends to catch debris and funnel it down into the shoe... so they are not my pick for places where there is a lot of trail debris.... or perhaps I should have used gaiters. But they are perfect for wet, slippery, or dry trail conditions and casual wear. To me, the picture makes them look like they have green trim: They are shades of grey, not green-- I was pleasantly surprised by that, and I think they are a good- looking pair of shoes.

Very comfortable once I found the right size. I had to size up a half size from my normal size as the toe box was squeezing my toes. Half size up and they fit like a glove. The retro hiker style is a plus.

Took my Merrells to a winter trip to Amsterdam, Netherlands, when it was raining heavily, was windy, and cold. The sneakers showed it best performance- one week walking a lot in the city, my feet were dry, warm, comfy( and my knees were comfy too- love the sneaker's bouncy soil!), and never slipped, even on wet cobble stones. I ’ m a size 12 through and through, but these in the same size were tight. The toe box is smaller than normal. Also you need to take into account feet swelling and perhaps thicker socks. I wore these for the first time all day hiking around Grand Cyn Village. I was surprised there was no uncomfortable rubbing or stiffness which is very common with new hiking shoes.
