These are my favorite pair many Salomons. The body of the show is noticably more padded around the ankle, and the toebox wider, giving them a street style look and making them very comfortable for everyday wear and touring. I was unsure about color scheme but absolutely love it, it really pops but matches jeans and such easily. I 'm almost tempted to get another pair as backups!

Love these shoes! Have been a big fan of the Ultra Glide series and these do not dissapoint. Excellent grip, like a marshmellow underfoot. A great shoe that can do it all. Long distance, daily training, can even handle a bit of technical. If you want one shoe that can do it all this is it.

For the North American market the UG4 is a quantum leap forward from the previously released UG2. Relieve Sphere and optiFOAM specifically are new components that take an already established UG line up a full level to being a serious competitor. Visually UG4 looks overconstructed, there is a lot going on, but it is remarkably lighter in hand and underfoot than I anticipated. I have had 4 or 5 pairs of these over the years, interspersed with other shoes. I always return to them. The Gortex is pretty reliable, seems to wear off/away after a few seasons, but worth the extra money for the initial miles. I am in between a 7 and a 7. 5 for most shoes and like the fit and feel of the 7 in Salomon. The laces are the best!! You do n't have to worry about your shoes coming untied during a run.

I always go for the XA Pro 3D. I don ’ t normally go for the Goretex. As others have mentioned, this and other models are longer than in previous years. I ’ ve always gone with the same size& had to size down a half size for all shoes this year. The Goretex liner is built into the upper tongue area better than in previous years- no more sock to slip into- or it wouldn ’ t be an option for me. The toe cap& sole are key for features for me. Fortunately the sides( near the ankle) are lower- some of the previous Goretex models were too high. The lacing system doesn ’ t seem as durable as previous models& I hope it holds up. Thats my only concern. The stiff soles( that I want) make them a bit less comfortable than some of the lighter shoes but these are great for legit hiking.
