I 've tried boots from several other brands/stores, and finally, after hearing me repeatedly complain about said failed footwear, my brother recommended Merrell. Not too heavy, and the waterproofing has worked well so far in my three months of ownership. Im giving the quality of these shoes a 5star⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️review for what they ’ re designed for. But i had to return them cause the cosmetic quality was a factory seconds. One of the shoes had a misprint of the “ HOKA ” logo on it. Also they seamed to be “ used ” and not just “ tried on ” …. That ’s ridiculous considering they are$ 240 shoes. After I returned them I ordered another pair as an exchange and believe it or not I was sent the EXACT same shoes back to me. So before I sent them back for a second time I ordered a 3rd pair and made sure they were shipped before I returned the “ factory 2nds ” back to a local Dick ’s Store to insure they wouldn ’ t send these back to me AGAIN😉. Once I received the final pair I used them for what they are intended for and they are simply perfect. The best I ’ ve ever had. I don ’ t want to even take them off.

Keens are absolutely awesome! These are my 10th pair of Keen shoes. I have all different styles and they are all comfortable right from the start. There is no break in time for them. I got these boots just a few months ago and have already hiked over 100 miles in them and have had zero blisters or sore spots!( I am training for the Camino in Spain and these will definitely be my boots for the trip!). I have also been out in the rain with them a couple times, and along with my rain pants, my feet stayed dry. I intentionally splashed around in puddles like a little kid and my feet stayed completely dry and warm! My favorite feature of Keens is their wide toe box. While they make your feet look a little big, I do n't care. Being able to wiggle my toes and not have that tight fit is worth a million to me. And because they are a little wider than other boots, they are very stable. I 've never have my ankle break over when hiking on uneven or soft ground. I ca n't say enough about these boots. I highly recommend them and will be a loyal Keen customer for life! Keens do also run a tad small, so I always buy a half size up to allow for a good thick sock. I 'm usually a size 6 1/2, but I buy my Keens in a size 7.

There is also ample grip on any terrain. The boot kept my feet warm on a cool day. No experience yet in hot weather. They are a bit heavy but they are bullet proof.

Use them hiking in the mountains and the give me great support which is mainly what I was looking for in a boot. Be aware they are a bit on the heavy side but for me they are worth it. I have used them one season and they still look great, very tough exterior really resist scuffs from rocks.

I have a pair of the military issue version of these boots, love these boots! I walk my dog in the high desert of NM around 4 miles a day. The are just right, not to heavy but give great support and protection in the varying high desert terrain. Just purchased a new pair, these are almost exactly the same as the issue version. The only difference is the new version has hooks at the very top lace, opposed to the holes on the mil version, which is even better!

The Gore- Tex liner works good, almost too good. My feet seemed to overheat in temps over 30 degrees. They are comfortable and require no break in period. I can see why Danner Crater Rim boots are a boot of choice for SOF operators in Afghan and other challenging environment. Best of all they are American made!!

I 've been researching hiking boots for several months and Asolo's products kept coming up over and over as the premier choice among experienced hikers. I was impressed by the loyalty of Asolo customers, and liked the look and reported performance of the Asolo Fugitive GTX Boot. Initially, I purchased the same size as my other boots, a 9 1/2. Upon the first test fit, I knew they were too small and returned the pair for a half size larger. The size 10 fit perfectly, but I will caution that these boots run a bit narrow( I do not have particularly large feet). Asolo thoughtfully offers `` wide '' sizes as well. I christened my new pair of Fugitives by taking a 33 mile trek on the Appalachian Trail in North Carolina in early March. The trail had a good bit of snow, ice and mud. Temperatures during the three day trip ranged from 17 to 64 degrees( F), and included periods of rain and snow. The boots performed beautifully in terms of thermal and waterproof qualities. Also, these boots are very easy to put on, which is a plus when going for that 1am potty run in the cold. My only criticism of the design is that the insole is made of an extremely hard material. By day three, the balls of my feet were hurting pretty badly, and definitely detracted from the enjoyment of my trip. Adding an extra layer of socks helped marginally. I 've never experienced this problem before, so, upon arriving back home, I compared the insole to that in my older boots. Big difference; my older( HiTec) boots( which are falling apart after 15 years) have a much softer insole. I love the Asolo Fugitive GTX Boot, but will definitely add a gel insole prior to my next trip. These are, by far, the nicest( and most expensive) hiking boots I 've ever owned, and would definitely recommend them to others, but with the cautions regarding the sizing and insole material. I hope to add a couple thousand comfortable miles to these boots in the years to come.
