Definitely my go to lure. If you just wan na catch a fish tie one of these on. Its small but VERY loud for a tiny lipless crankbait. Can cast really good even with a bait caster and is fairly aerodynamic, lands straight and belly down `` 99% '' of the time. I use this for both salt and fresh water. Ive caught panfish of many sizes along with bass, chain pickerel, crappie, white+ yellow perch, red drum, baby striper barely longer than the bait to 20+ inchers. Its just a fish catcher! Colors I mainly use for this are helsinki shad and blue chrome( pure personal opinion but Im sure all the colors work). Im trying the pink tiger next! This lure works great. When the sun gets low, and the fish stop hitting worms, try this spinner bait! It will work until it gets dark! Just cast and retrieve. These work great. I 've caught fish from Jersey to Mexico with these. The biggest so far was 30lbs. These lures produce, and I always have a couple on me. These catch fish when nothing else is. picked up a couple of these lures the other day, they are unbelievable. caught 4 stripers( 1 40 pounder) all on the sp minnows. I saw what baitfish were running and matched the lure to the baitfish. the stripers went crazy for it. they hit it so hard. i would defenitely reccomend it.

This time of the year, being summer time the water temps are high... the 6XD crank bait gets down to the right thermal climb where the fish are suspended.. the floating feature is a plus.. crank then stop.. bass hit alot of times as the crank bait starts to float up... long casts are reqired to get the lure down deep.. also fluorocarbin line is a must.. also good to troll with.. bouncing off the bottom works also.

I 've been catching large mouth and spotted bass with this lure all winter. The gizzard shad and the sexy shad are my go to colors. Throw it across a rocky point in about 10- 15' of water and slowly crank it across the bottom. Make sure you bounce it off the rocks and hold on. The bass crush it. I will always use the 6XD or the 5XD. Strike King makes the best crank baits i 've ever used.
