This is a really sweet dry bag! It feels super durable and the 1KN rated lashing straps are a really nice touch. Seems like it will hold up forever! I got a 13L bag which is perfect for smaller stuff and keeping things organized in larger dry bags. Took it out on the river this past weekend and it got splashed. Kept everything dry and safe! Highly recommend this bag!

Keeps water out, and your stuff inside. Tie down points are nice, as is the easy to replace buckle. Definitely my go to dry bag now for guiding and personal trips

Took this out on a 5- day rafting trip on the Owyhee River in Oregon. Everything stayed dry! Bomber construction, great texture on the material and more flexible than other, more plasticy- type dry bags. The extra lash- points and durable bottom fabric are great features as well.

[ I ’ ve been using the big river bag for my motorcycle touring now for 5 years and they hold up to the weather and the rough use I put these through. Now with this updated bag with the additional loops on its sides. This is a PERFECT bag with much more possibilities to attach anywhere on the motorcycle. Very happy with the bag and is my go to bag for packing. I have the 3/8/13/20/35 and the 65 liter river bags. YES, they are that good! Use these for motorcycle tours and kayaking.

[ These are incredibly useful for overlanding. I can keep them in the rig or if I need extra space, throw them on the roof.

I am an outdoor professional running an instructional business focused on rough water kayak skills in marine environments: Surf, rock gardening and tide races. I also do quite a bit of expeditioning. Historically, lightweight bags are more flexible so pack more efficiently but do n't stand up to lots of use. The opposite holds true for burly bags which tend to be heavy, stiff and an inefficient use of space. Crazy making. Though I 've only had the newer version of the Big River Bags for a short time, they seem super durable but are flexible enough to conform to the convoluted space in hatches. They also feature some unique innovative features. The buckle closures are field replaceable which is brilliant. Those connections are always tough but it's not unheard of to snap off one of the wings on the male side which previously was the end of the bag. Another great feature a line of lash points on either side of the bag. That makes it so much easier to attach to a kayak deck, the fork of a bike( arguably eliminating the need for panniers), outside of a pack, onto trail vehicles, etc... An optional accessory is a Dry Bag sling to convert a bag to a single strap daypack. The bottom of dry bags are often the first part to fail but these have a triple coated base so will stand up to stuffing while sitting on terra firma. In spite of these features, these are somehow reasonably light with my 13 liter weighing in at 6. 7ozs. There bags are a bit more$ then some other models but seem to clearly be worth it. I expect to get lots of years of hard use out of these.

No matter how much I cord I use to lash a dry bag to the deck for my snacks, extra layers, and camera, it never seems to stay put and I can never get into it easily. Sea To Summit solved the problem with a versatile, semi- rigid outer that's easy to rig and a dry bag sewn inside.

it attaches quickly and easily and is within reach of necessary items while paddling.

Used on a self support kayak trip on the middle fork of salmon in Idaho. Ran it on the front deck but mounted so the access end was toward the bow. In reverse the angle makes it easy to read a waterproof map in the bungees and did not interfere with strokes. Great for extra jacket, lunch, and small dry box. No need to open the hatches for gear until camp.

[ This is better and more creative than the online description. It has a semi- rigid insert to hold shape, the interior dry bag is attached with loop-&- hook( Velcro), and there are a couple of ways to secure it on the deck of your kayak. Because some powerboat drivers have not paid close attention, I do prefer bright colors when crossing a lakes. And, of course, bright colors are easier for bush pilots to spot. I do wish it came in a bright color similar to a safety vest.

[ I like the quality and the size of the bag. Will fit on a smaller kayak.
A ripstop dry bag is designed to be waterproof and durable, making it ideal for protecting your gear from water damage. The ripstop material is woven with a reinforcing technique that prevents tears and rips from spreading, ensuring long-lasting use. These bags are commonly used for outdoor activities such as kayaking, camping, and hiking, where exposure to wet conditions is likely.
Choosing the right size of a ripstop dry bag depends on the amount of gear you need to store and the type of activities you plan to undertake. Consider the volume of your belongings and whether you need extra space for additional items. It's also important to think about how you will carry the bag, as larger sizes may be bulkier and heavier when full.
Yes, ripstop dry bags are designed to withstand various weather conditions, particularly wet environments. They provide a reliable barrier against rain, splashes, and even submersion in water, making them suitable for activities like boating or hiking in the rain. However, it’s important to ensure that the bag is properly sealed to maintain its waterproof capabilities.
When selecting a ripstop dry bag, consider features such as the closure system, which should provide a secure seal to prevent water entry. Look for additional features like adjustable straps for easy carrying, reinforced seams for added durability, and transparent windows for visibility of contents. Some bags may also include external pockets for quick access to smaller items.
Absolutely! While ripstop dry bags are excellent for water sports, they are also versatile for other outdoor activities. They can be used for camping, hiking, or even as storage for travel, keeping your belongings organized and protected from dirt and moisture. Their lightweight and durable design makes them suitable for various environments.
To properly seal a ripstop dry bag, first, fill the bag with your items, leaving some space at the top. Roll the top of the bag down at least three times to create a tight seal, ensuring no air or water can enter. Finally, buckle or clip the closure to secure it, and check for any gaps that could compromise its waterproof integrity.
