So I 've been wanting to upgrade my stock compression bag that came with my sleeping bag for a while now, and wow is the Evac HD absolutely perfect. The 35 L size makes getting a bulky sleeping bag in and compressed a cinch, and the rugged material is perfect for mounting on the outside of a backpack! What's the most impressive, though, is the eVent technology that really allows the sleeping bag to be compressed more than any other type of dry bag, as the air can be pushed out of the bottom through the eVent material. Frankly, I 'm absolutely thrilled with this thing!

The compression feature is well worth the( minimal) additional weight as it takes up way less space and gives you more options to strap the bags onto other things.

It ’s critical to keep down dry and having the compression straps turn a full size down bag into the size of a small basketball which frees up lots of space in my backpack for other items. I ’ ve used several of sea to summits lightweight dry bags in the past. The lightweight bags are great for application where abrasion is minimized but a susceptible to getting small holes in rough environment or after heavy use. The big river bag is the perfect heavier duty compliment to the lightweight dry bag for applications like kayaking, bikepacking and other adventures where you need to keep items out of the elements but where abrasion can ’ t be entirely avoided. I ’ ve used the 13L size in a few of my whitewater kayaks including my half slice and it a great size to slide behind the seat. Never had a drop of water get in. I like the 13L size, it could easily fit a sleeping bag and a light layer in it. Have yet to get it out on a bike packing mission but expect the lash points will be nice to have. The picante red color is awesome. Looking forward to taking it on more adventures.

I not only put a phone in the front clear pocket but it fit 2 others in the bag itself( i was the official carrier of the phones), with room to spare, for a wallet and anything else that i did n't want to get wet. Great protection. It has a shoulder strap that I wore crossbody so that it was secure. With the phone in the front pocket the phones touch still works and you can even answer a phone call while its in the pocket. Small enough not to be bulky but big enough to hold everything. We originally were considering Gecko's drawstring style dry bag, but decided this bag looked like better quality level for our needs. This bag was exactly what we needed. We took it on a river float trip, and it was perfect. The lower half was submerged for nearly the entire 3 hours and everything stayed dry. It held our sunscreen, t- shirts, hats, keys, etc with plenty of room. We did put phones and keys in ziplocks just in case, since it was our first time using it and wanted to make sure we were closing it correctly. The strap made carrying and tying down to the tube easy. I would definitely recommend it. The only thing is to make sure you roll down the top enough to ensure a good seal. It says on the bag to roll `` at least 3 times '' but I would recommend rolling basically until you reach the top of your contents.

I have used a lot of different shapes and sizes of the Bill's Bag over the years. The 65 is my favorite size for summer time, inflatable kayaking, or going light on the cat boat. I have had some failure with the plastic buckles in the past, mostly human error by smashing them in the frame or tail gate by accident. I was excited to use the new metal fastening system. They worked really well, except in the cold weather with cold hands. It is a little harder to fit the metal hook through the webbing. I see it as a trade off for a super secure system. The material is also super solid and dry.

It has a semi- rigid insert to hold shape, the interior dry bag is attached with loop-&- hook( Velcro), and there are a couple of ways to secure it on the deck of your kayak. Because some powerboat drivers have not paid close attention, I do prefer bright colors when crossing a lakes. And, of course, bright colors are easier for bush pilots to spot. I do wish it came in a bright color similar to a safety vest.

I picked one of these up when I was not happy with another deck bag on the market. I was really impressed with how well it stayed in place. There are several straps to really lock it in place. The inside comes with a waterproof bag to help protect your gear. The inner bag is secured with a piece of velcro to help hold it in place. I have an older version of this bag that still works well but the new quick release buckles on this model make it easier to use. Note that you do need to be patient for the eVent to work. It ’s a dry bag so water can ’ t get in but air can escape with compression out of the eVent fabric. Pro tip: roll the top closed once and add pressure to get out a lot of the air, then add two more rolls and clip closed. Pull the bottom over the top and using constant pressure keep cinching the straps alternating sides for and even compression. Another quality piece of gear by Sea to Summit. Two thumbs up.

I have been using the EVX 13 L dry bag when paddling, climbing, camping and bikepacking. This bag is amazing! It is light, tough and above all keeps the weather out. I took this out on a multi- day bikepacking trip which turned into a multi- day snow and rain event. I stored my down jacket and other `` need to stay dry so you do n't cry '' items in it( down jacket/pants). Everything stayed perfectly dry. The compression straps allow me to get my gear into small areas in my bike bags without compromising the integrity of my gear. The compression straps worked super smooth, no twisting or locking up. I travel to remote locations, most of the time solo( unless guiding). I need to know that I can count on my gear to keep me in the backcountry as long as I want and not have to leave due to equipment failure or poor design. The EVAC bag is amazing. I am going to purchase more and I highly recommend it to anyone that spends time exploring, or traveling in areas you know the weather will test and punish the your gear.

[ Bought this to replace a leaky bladder in my running pack made by another company. It does not leak! The zipper feature is nice; it clicks once it's fully closed. There is some structure so you can open the bladder with one hand, which makes filling it easier. It barely fits inside my pack, but it fits, phew.
