Great 'little' bag. The 8l actually does n't fill a spot in my kit, but these are great waterproof bags. I really like the muted gray color and the white inside to make it easier to see items inside. Good size for spare clothes on a summer trip. Light and durable!

This bag is perfect for backpacking and hiking. This bag kept down clothing perfectly dry on a week long trek where it rained nonstop. The tab on the bottom of the bag is really helpful for hanging the bag off of my backpack. I highly recommend this bag.

I have used the 8 liter bag for both backpacking and front country travel, it's great for both! I think the thickness of this bag is the perfect intersection of durable and light- good for a food bag while camping or a dirty laundry bag while traveling. I have never had a S2S buckle break on me, but it's cool that it comes with a field replaceable buckle. I 'm not totally sure what the benefit of the hang tab on the bottom of the bag is for, but I 'm sure there is a reason for it.

I use these lightweight dry bags on many caving expeditions. They are fantastic in that they hold up well and weigh almost nothing. The addition of the field repairable buckles has also really secured these as some of the best dry bags on the market. I would still prefer the seal design to be changed into more of an envelope style to ensure an even greater seal at the top but beyond that I really recommend these as long as you can put them in the secondary containment like a backpack.

Must have in my opinion for any outdoor adventurer. Are multi- purpose, much stronger than they appear and can be shoved full without a worry. I also use them as packing cubes while out on the trail with my family. With four kiddos and a wife, organization is key for all the snacks, gear and STUFF. We love them so much, we purchased individual bags for our kiddos to begin having their own and their bags. I have also used them for packing cubes when traveling and not camping. With S2S, you know the quality is great.

[ I am always excited to get new stuff sacks...:) Sadly, every year I puncture at least 2 or more old ones( no brand in particular), between the rocks, or other sharp gear on backcountry canoe camping trips, it's inevitable. But the STS gear tends to last longer than my current 5- 6 year lifespan. Thank you.

I am an outdoor professional running an instructional business focused on rough water kayak skills in marine environments: Surf, rock gardening and tide races. I also do quite a bit of expeditioning. Historically, lightweight bags are more flexible so pack more efficiently but do n't stand up to lots of use. The opposite holds true for burly bags which tend to be heavy, stiff and an inefficient use of space. Crazy making. Though I 've only had the newer version of the Big River Bags for a short time, they seem super durable but are flexible enough to conform to the convoluted space in hatches. They also feature some unique innovative features. The buckle closures are field replaceable which is brilliant. Those connections are always tough but it's not unheard of to snap off one of the wings on the male side which previously was the end of the bag. Another great feature a line of lash points on either side of the bag. That makes it so much easier to attach to a kayak deck, the fork of a bike( arguably eliminating the need for panniers), outside of a pack, onto trail vehicles, etc... An optional accessory is a Dry Bag sling to convert a bag to a single strap daypack. The bottom of dry bags are often the first part to fail but these have a triple coated base so will stand up to stuffing while sitting on terra firma. In spite of these features, these are somehow reasonably light with my 13 liter weighing in at 6. 7ozs. There bags are a bit more$ then some other models but seem to clearly be worth it. I expect to get lots of years of hard use out of these.

I took this bag out on a 15 mile trek with new people to hiking. I showed them the importance of a good quality dry bag, as it started to rain! They watched me stuff the next days breakfast along with some personal items in the Evac bag. Worked well keeping the items inside dry. We had no issues. A couple asked me where to go to get one and I said Sea to Summit.

Alex
This is a great product for just about any sport that involves any sort of water. This spends most of the winter on my snowmobile keeping backup layers dry, and has held up really well. These ca n't get wet extra layers are essential in the backcountry, but I never have to worry about that with this bag. In the summer this transitions onto my bike and can take the wear and tear of being strapped on externally. I had an older version of these bags, but the new one is easier to use and more streamlined. The compression feature is well worth the( minimal) additional weight as it takes up way less space and gives you more options to strap the bags onto other things.
5
Scott M.
13L is the perfect size for my 20 degree down sleeping bag. It ’s critical to keep down dry and having the compression straps turn a full size down bag into the size of a small basketball which frees up lots of space in my backpack for other items. I have an older version of this bag that still works well but the new quick release buckles on this model make it easier to use. Note that you do need to be patient for the eVent to work. It ’s a dry bag so water can ’ t get in but air can escape with compression out of the eVent fabric. Pro tip: roll the top closed once and add pressure to get out a lot of the air, then add two more rolls and clip closed. Pull the bottom over the top and using constant pressure keep cinching the straps alternating sides for and even compression. Another quality piece of gear by Sea to Summit. Two thumbs up.
5
Mark M.
I 've been using compression dry bags for roughly 20 years and sea to summit has one of the best products available. Their dry bags are durable, effective, and reliable. If moisture is a factor, I will always bring this dry bag.

I have been using the EVX 13 L dry bag when paddling, climbing, camping and bikepacking. This bag is amazing! It is light, tough and above all keeps the weather out. I took this out on a multi- day bikepacking trip which turned into a multi- day snow and rain event. I stored my down jacket and other `` need to stay dry so you do n't cry '' items in it( down jacket/pants). Everything stayed perfectly dry. The compression straps allow me to get my gear into small areas in my bike bags without compromising the integrity of my gear. The compression straps worked super smooth, no twisting or locking up. I travel to remote locations, most of the time solo( unless guiding). I need to know that I can count on my gear to keep me in the backcountry as long as I want and not have to leave due to equipment failure or poor design. The EVAC bag is amazing. I am going to purchase more and I highly recommend it to anyone that spends time exploring, or traveling in areas you know the weather will test and punish the your gear.

Jamie S.
So I 've been wanting to upgrade my stock compression bag that came with my sleeping bag for a while now, and wow is the Evac HD absolutely perfect. The 35 L size makes getting a bulky sleeping bag in and compressed a cinch, and the rugged material is perfect for mounting on the outside of a backpack! What's the most impressive, though, is the eVent technology that really allows the sleeping bag to be compressed more than any other type of dry bag, as the air can be pushed out of the bottom through the eVent material. Frankly, I 'm absolutely thrilled with this thing!
5
Drew C.
I have been using the eVac dry bags for years. They are a great way to keep sleeping bags and extra layers dry while gaining room in your bag. The new HD fabric is bomber. I will use it with a roll- top dry bag to keep my sleeping bag dry all summer on the river. These are the best compression bags I have ever used.

I am a backcountry fishing guide and I beat on my gear pretty hard. I ’ ve been using the 13L dry bag to keep my sleeping bag compressed and protected from moisture and it works awesome. As a mom of 3 small children, I knew I needed a kayak that would let me get out on the water quickly and easily, so I could take advantage of every spare minute I could find. This baby takes me five minutes to set up, two minutes to pack up, and is so light and easy to transport! It needs such little storage space in between paddles, and doesn ’ t require me to shove a 50lb kayak on the roof of my car. It paddles like a dream( to this inexperienced kayaker), and is so, so fun! I ’ ve even taken all three of my girls with me — it ’s a heavier ride for sure, but I can do it, if I just NEED to get out on the lake! It ’s a life- changer for me.

We originally were considering Gecko's drawstring style dry bag, but decided this bag looked like better quality level for our needs. This bag was exactly what we needed. We took it on a river float trip, and it was perfect. The lower half was submerged for nearly the entire 3 hours and everything stayed dry. It held our sunscreen, t- shirts, hats, keys, etc with plenty of room. We did put phones and keys in ziplocks just in case, since it was our first time using it and wanted to make sure we were closing it correctly. The strap made carrying and tying down to the tube easy. I would definitely recommend it. The only thing is to make sure you roll down the top enough to ensure a good seal. It says on the bag to roll `` at least 3 times '' but I would recommend rolling basically until you reach the top of your contents.

I bought a kayak this past summer and was looking for a way to safely store items while paddling. This dry bag did the trick. Though not very big( which I knew because it is only a 5L capacity) it does a great job of keeping items dry and safe, while the included shoulder strap and clip allow me to secure it from falling out. I will probably be making an additional purchase of one of their larger 10L or 20L sizes in the future.

I have used a lot of different shapes and sizes of the Bill's Bag over the years. The 65 is my favorite size for summer time, inflatable kayaking, or going light on the cat boat. I have had some failure with the plastic buckles in the past, mostly human error by smashing them in the frame or tail gate by accident. I was excited to use the new metal fastening system. They worked really well, except in the cold weather with cold hands. It is a little harder to fit the metal hook through the webbing. I see it as a trade off for a super secure system. The material is also super solid and dry.

I bought these for a backpacking trip to use as a stuff sack for my down sleeping bag. The large one is great for that and for hanging your cooking clothes in bear country. We got some light rain and it held up to that. I use the smaller ones for my puffy coat and as a leakproof bag for toiletries.

No matter how much I cord I use to lash a dry bag to the deck for my snacks, extra layers, and camera, it never seems to stay put and I can never get into it easily. Sea To Summit solved the problem with a versatile, semi- rigid outer that's easy to rig and a dry bag sewn inside.

Used on a self support kayak trip on the middle fork of salmon in Idaho. Ran it on the front deck but mounted so the access end was toward the bow. In reverse the angle makes it easy to read a waterproof map in the bungees and did not interfere with strokes. Great for extra jacket, lunch, and small dry box. No need to open the hatches for gear until camp.

[ This is better and more creative than the online description. It has a semi- rigid insert to hold shape, the interior dry bag is attached with loop-&- hook( Velcro), and there are a couple of ways to secure it on the deck of your kayak. Because some powerboat drivers have not paid close attention, I do prefer bright colors when crossing a lakes. And, of course, bright colors are easier for bush pilots to spot. I do wish it came in a bright color similar to a safety vest.

[ I ’ ve used this little stick of dynamited now a real life rescue on the Arkansas in high water where I needed to get to my bag fast. This should not however be your only throw line if you ’ re running a larger craft, but makes a great supplement to a longer, more robust line. On thing I would add is that there is ample belt length. To much for most people and you will want to cut off the excess( hot knife) Your local climbing shop should do this for you for free if they ’ re cool. Maybe pick up a dedicated “ z- drag ” line while you ’ re there. I recommend static line as the rope in your throw bag is dynamic and will lose some of its stretch( which you want when it ’s time to go fishing for your buddies) if you use it for unpinning a “ wrapped ” boat. The main negative thing is that the position of the safety release on the belt is not adjustable and will be in an awkward( and maybe hard to get to) if you choose to ware this puppy “ appendix carry ” which I do when paddling a ducky. As with most things, this can be overcome with practice. In closing, get proper instruction, make practicing rescue skills a regular part of your time on the water. Someone ’s life could be in the balance. Thanks for reading my book
When selecting a water sports bag, consider features such as waterproof materials, durability, and storage capacity. Look for bags with sealed seams and roll-top closures to ensure that your gear stays dry. Additional features like external pockets, adjustable straps, and reflective elements can enhance usability and safety.
Water sports bags are typically made from materials like nylon, PVC, or tarpaulin, which offer waterproof properties and durability. These materials are designed to withstand exposure to water, UV rays, and abrasions. It's important to choose a bag that balances weight and sturdiness based on your specific water activities.
Choosing the right size for a water sports bag depends on the amount of gear you plan to carry and the type of activities you'll be participating in. For day trips, a smaller bag may suffice, while longer excursions may require a larger capacity. Consider the dimensions and volume of the bag to ensure it meets your storage needs.
Yes, many water sports bags are versatile enough to be used for various outdoor activities such as hiking, camping, or traveling. Their waterproof features and durable construction make them ideal for protecting gear from the elements, whether you're on the water or in unpredictable weather conditions.
Comfort is key when using a water sports bag, especially during extended use. Look for bags with padded shoulder straps, adjustable harness systems, and ergonomic designs that distribute weight evenly. Additionally, consider the bag's ventilation features to reduce moisture buildup and enhance comfort during your activities.
