I use both the split- tail and paddle tail versions in various colors, including silver& black, Chartreuse, Rootbeer/Gold Glitter, and Glow. A lift- and- fall retrieve usually works for me and I just got back from Moonstone Beach in Cambria, CA where I scored 2. 5 puund Barred Surf Perch with this bait. They 're pricy- but worth it. Forget about the pouch once you 've open it- put the sandworms in a glass jar to keep them from dying out. I 've been using Zoom products for several years now and use the swimmin chunk as a trailer on a 1/4 ounce jig and also a 3/8 ounce jig. i usually dip the legs in a chartreuse garlic dye, and most of my jigs are a shade of green( usually a green crawfish) not sure if the bass see this as a bluegill or crawfish; only that it catches fish!! i fish an extremely clear, fairly deep lake so detail is very important.

You do have to be careful when fishing around a lot of people or when you land a fish it will be get caught everywhere. Best to have a few extras on hand.

Bought it for a trip to Indian river inlet, Delaware, worked great on redfish, stripers, and blues.( mackerel version) Also worked on stripers and large mouth bass in the Roaches Run bird sanctuary.( it's a big tidal pond on the Potomac next to national airport) Nice lure, casts well, but a bit pricey, such that it hurts to lose one on a snag, but I always have one in my lure box.

paddle tail swimbaits rigged with a jig head are often the first baits i throw when fishing for bass. Just so happens it was the only bait i threw all day over the weekend. These produced hits from both largemouth bass and northern in ultra clear water and murky. I was using the sight flash color and it worked great. They do tear easy but are worth the constant action I have experience with them. I usually rig them with a 1/4 oz jig head with the hook through the top, works like a charm!

Bought and used these this past spring and caught a lot of bass. Easy to rig and use on leadhead jigs. Soft, so they have great action. Only problem is that the tails get bitten off easily. The package says they are squid scented. Apparently fresh water fish like that scent. After catching the bass in the photo, my friend also caught a 2+ pound trout! A tad pricey, but they catch fish, so worth it.
