Was over the moon Ecstatic when my fitbit Versa finally crapped out so I could justify a major upgrade. I 'm an outdoor enthusiast into hiking, backpacking, camping, kayaking and just about anything in outdoor activities. I absolutely love my new Garmin Instinct 3. Initially was not the Garmin I was going to go with but after seeing this side by side with my planned purchase the Instinct 3 was Hands down the better option for me. Bit of a learning curve getting accustomed to all the bells and whistles that this watch packs. The battery life for me as a backpacker was a huge selling point( 7days of always on)... Ca n't beat that for the backcountry. One less thing I have to worry about charging. Love my Garmin Instinct 3 and will now be a lifelong Garmin Watch Wearer!

The Fenix 8 solar has a long battery life. I have n't charged it for 2 weeks and the Fenix has 41% still to go. Nice health monitors like HR and Pulse Ox. I am a Lifeguard and feel better that it is rated for deeper water than just a swim.

I started with a Fenix 5, moved on to a 6 then a 7. Finally a Fenix 8 amoled watch. Screen is great and easy to read. Buttons are easy to use etc. I am very happy!

I bought this a month ago and am delighted w it! It looks cool, the interchangeable watch faces are fun to experiment with, and the amount of data I get is incredible! In GPS mode, it does not need any time to locate the satellites like previous Garmins I ’ ve owned. It took awhile to get the hang of all the buttons, but once I did it ’s no problem. I really appreciate ALL the functions available on this device. The only criticisms are pretty minor:( 1) It does seem to get kind of dim in certain lighting conditions, like the “ auto brightness ” function maybe isn ’ t the best; and( 2) When it displays my sleep patterns the colors used to represent REM sleep and “ awake ” are so similar that it ’s just a little more confusing than it would be otherwise. But I am so glad I bought this watch!

Very simple to use out the box, and recommended to set it up on the app for a quicker and easier set up. Don ’ t think about buying it. Just buy it. If you want a watch that can track any activity and has a battery last for weeks look no further. This watch does it all, with accurate GPS tracking and long battery life it is perfect for my uses. I mainly use it for running and cycling and its amazing. While this has all the bells and whistles it is definetley meant for the more serious consumer. It may be too much for the beginner with the price.

Sturdy and robust design built for the hardships of everyday wear in all conditions. Great fitness tracking, gps, sleep monitoring, and the flashlight is awesome. UI is kind of weird like in most garmin products but the button interface makes it friendlier than most. Best suited for the committed adventurer and athlete. The solar display is less vibrant so watch faces can be a bit dull, the simpler face the better.

To give this review context, im coming from using a instinct 1. To upgrade to a fenix was a massive upgrade. I know A lot of people recommended switching to the Epix because it was so similar to this watch. To me it was important to have the most up- to- date user interface technology, without having to overspend on the fenix 8. The 8 is great but there were so many features i was not interested in. I had no use for them so the fenix e was perfect for me. I ’ m obsessed with it.
