I started using the VMC shaky head jig this summer. Exclusively with the Googan slim shake. It has been a go to for me. Even though the spring lock doesn ’ t have a center pin. My googan plastics have held up well though catching fish, and occasional hang- ups. I would recommend this product.

A screw lock jig head is a specialized fishing tackle designed to securely hold soft baits in place while providing stability and action in the water. The screw lock mechanism allows anglers to easily attach and detach baits without damaging them, ensuring they stay in position during casting and retrieval. This design enhances the effectiveness of the bait, making it more appealing to fish.
Screw lock jig heads offer several advantages, including improved bait retention and reduced slippage during use. The screw lock feature allows for a more secure attachment, which can lead to better hook sets and increased catch rates. Additionally, these jig heads can accommodate a variety of soft baits, making them versatile for different fishing conditions.
Screw lock jig heads are particularly effective in scenarios where anglers are targeting species that require a more natural presentation, such as bass or walleye. They excel in both freshwater and saltwater environments, especially when fishing in areas with heavy cover or structure. Their design allows for a slow, subtle presentation that can entice fish in various conditions.
Screw lock jig heads are typically made from durable materials such as lead or tungsten, which provide the necessary weight for effective casting and sinking. The hooks are often constructed from high-carbon steel or stainless steel to ensure strength and resistance to corrosion. This combination of materials enhances the overall performance and longevity of the jig head.
Choosing the right size screw lock jig head depends on several factors, including the type of bait you plan to use, the species you are targeting, and the fishing conditions. Generally, larger jig heads are suited for bigger baits and deeper waters, while smaller jig heads work well with lighter baits and shallower areas. It's important to match the jig head size with your fishing strategy for optimal results.
