I have been wearing one of these helmets for about a year. It is comfortable, well vented and light. After crashing at a bike park and landing face first on a rock I can also confidently say that it offers great protection also. I broke the helmet, but walked away with only a small cut on my face. Being a motorcycle lover, i 've always loved all things Smith. And my Convoy is a perfect example: great fit, visor does not get in the way of your view and it's lightweight! I prefer it over my Fox Speedframe, which is heavier and the visor's too big and sometimes obstructs the view, especially when going downhill. Next helmet will be another Convoy!!

First, I really liked this helmet from a comfort and fit perspective. It kept my head dry, fit well without constricting, so no complaints there. Second, I ’ ve referred to my helmet in the past tense because on a recent ski trip( I ’ m a boarder, but my family skis, so I ’ m going with ski trip here) I caught my edge on my last run( I know, I know) and I was slammed into the slope on my back, and I whacked my head on the ground. It was a hard impact. I still got a concussion, but I am certain my helmet saved me from much worse. I ’ ll be replacing my helmet with another Smith. Hopefully the new one will have a more peaceful retirement.

I took a pretty big slam to the back of my head on my first ride with this helmet and I ’ m not brain dead so I ’ m gon na say it works as advertised. Im actually pretty surprised the helmet is still intact as well. I didn ’ t feel hot or cold with it, so that ’s cool. Style is subjective.

I never wear a helmet when i bike. My wife owns several helmets and will sometimes wear one when we ride together, and she always wears one when she rides with her parents. Recently we were going on a ride with her parents. As we were packing up my wife said i had to wear a helmet and gave me her persist. When i gave her a funny look she said you know my mom is a nurse and obsessives over safety just wear it. I said okay and She helped me get it fitted. The helmet fit my normal male head and with some minor strap adjustments i was able to get a great fit. I snugged up the chin strap when we set off. During the ride It actually was very very light and comfortable very well vented and did not feel hot. It felt safe and i am sure i was riding harder than usual. When we were done my wife asked what I thought. I told her i liked it and was considering my own. She seemed surprised excitedly that i was being safe. She also told me i was more than welcome to wear it on any ride since she has multiple helmets.

As a loving wife I naturally worry about my husband ’s well being. I have never been big on helmets so once the kids hit their teens they quit wearing their helmet and my husband and i never wore helmets. My husband used to bike with the boys but they are gone now sooo he rides alone and of course i worry about him while he is riding by himself. He always wear bright colors and an orange hat. Recently i purchased him a smith persist in poppy. When i gave it to him i said he did not have to wear it i just wanted him to have the option. When he put it on I was really surprised and a bit excited as i had secretly wished he would wear it. After his first ride he told me the helmet was really nice and it made him feel safe. He does not wear it on every ride but he does wear it often it seems to like it.

The helmet is great. But like anything you wear, the fit is what counts. In my case, the front pushes my safety glasses down and out of my nose. My previous helmet did not have this problem. Again, I do not think it is a problem with the helmet itself, but you may want to consider visiting your Local Bike Shop( LBS) to buy a helmet you can try on with your glasses, etc.

Solid helmet with a great fit/integration with Smith Squad Mag Googles. MIPS makes the helmet fit smaller than advertised, but this was OK for me. If you are at the upper end of the size limit, be wary. Pretty warm, which is great for our cloudy midwest days. Earmuffs definitely make it harder to hear people talking to you.

The fit is very comfortable. The integration with SMITH goggles is perfect and adds to the comfortable fit. As for protection, well I haven ’ t tested it but trust SMITH with my safety on snow, single track and road!

Winter inevitably comes. Along with it is the need to continue riding the bike. The classic summer bike helmet just does n't work in the wintertime as it's just too full of holes for ventilation. Enter the Smith Survey Snow helmet. It has enough ventilation to keep the visor from fogging, but not enough to make your head cold. It has better protection than ANY bike helmet. It keeps your ears warm without blocking exterior sounds. The flip up visor allows you to lift it up when needed even if you wear glasses like I do. I wear glasses! I bought this hoping I wouldn ’ t get fogged up anymore. Yes, I no longer have fogged glasses. Yes, it fits small. I wear medium and bought a large. Yes, try it on and make sure it fits your face and glasses. Yes, the product is comfortable Yes, I ski in Tahoe, during some bad storms this year it worked well. Yes, smith has a great warranty and support. No, Yes, some snow might get in between you helmet and forehead. Wear a thin head covering. Yes, it doesn ’ t seal perfectly around your face like goggles. Yes, replacement visors are a thing if you can find them. Yes, smith seems to struggle with supply chain for replacement lenses.

Love the photochromatic lens. Super light helmet barely feels it is on. I added the Aleck nunchucks and it sounds great. A couple of improvements points.( a better protection for the lens when stowed away, maybe a whole helmet rigid case or a rigid cover for the lens. Also, the earmuffs out pressure on the ears when using with the audio system.

I am in love with this helmet, it is so much better than my previous one. It fits great, looks great and the fold down lenses are so convenient. I used to use a separate goggle and helmet system and this is so much easier and less fuss. I ordered a size larger than I thought I needed in order to be able to fit a thin beanie underneath and I made the right choice. My only complaint is the space between the visor and my upper cheek allows cold air in but I think with the right face protection it should be okay. Also I had two Smith bags in the box, not sure if this was an accident or what but I appreciate it all of my other pads fit into it perfectly! Two thumbs up for this helmet and Smith
