Tennis balls were a nice thing for a while but the fact that this is the right size and weight really helps her get a good feel in her glove for the ball and what to expect when catching the ball she will be using in spring. As she ’s built up her confidence catching the ball we have swapped in a regulation 11 ” here and there and she ’s so happy she can catch and throw it just the same. Absolutely recommend this ball for littles learning to catch or with fear of the ball.

Personally, I stink at having a consistent soft toss when working with my 8U/10U daughter on hitting. This tool allows me to set it up in front of a net, and get her into a rhythm of hitting quickly and easily. This gets her more quality reps in less time than me trying to do soft toss. It can also be used for working on grounders if you remove the extension bar from the middle or as a tee if you swap the insert. It packs up nicely in the included case and can be easily taken to the field for those long tournament days. My only complaint is that it's a bit top heavy when using the toss configuration, but that's easily remedied by adding a cheap ankle weight/sandbag/etc around the base. Also, if you 're going to be moving it a lot, grab some duct tape and run a couple of strips along the side of the release mechanism, which only loosely slides into its slot and has no screws to hold it firm. If you move it from one place to another, the mechanism will easily slide out and crash to the ground. Thankfully it's survived a few drops like this before I gave up and gorilla taped it, lol. I 've used all sorts of balls in this machine during the couple of months I 've had it, from foam practice baseballs to softballs, tennis balls, etc. The only one that's given me any issues are those rubbery weighted practice balls, which sometimes are too sticky against the rails to roll easily or tend to get a bit stuck on the release mechanism. Overall, it's a great practice machine that seems to be built fairly well while still being lightweight and easily portable.

I officiate ice hockey, and at 50 years old, that means I have sore muscles pretty much all the time from keeping up with high school aged kids. They seem to like to run into me, which is usually fine since I 'm 6'4 ''/ 225 and a good skater, but I am sure I feel the contact a lot more the next day than they do, even if they hit the ice hard and I stayed on my skates. This ball is a great size to put in my ref bag to take to the rink or use while relaxing on the couch like a softer version of a foam roller. Since I normally dislike foam rollers because they 're too hard, this being softer is a big win for me. I have also started using it as part of light body- weight/ stretching exercises to help with mobility for hockey and golf. All in all, it's been a very good find.

She currently plays 16U fast pitch softball so finding wiffle balls that hold up to a hard swing using her regular composite bat without getting destroyed in one session are difficult to find. Right out the box, the smell of rubber was overpowering. There are only 3 pieces to assemble which makes this a time- efficient product. The base has a nice amount of weight to it without being too heavy. The tube part is not easy to adjust, so if you are using this for players of different heights, it might get frustrating; especially if you do n't like having the aforementioned rubber smell on your hands. Nevertheless, I would recommend this product to a friend.

These balls are great, especially for instructional age kids. It removes the fear of being hit by the ball when being pitched or out of the pitching machine. You can also use them to remove the fear of being in front of the ball when teaching to catch. I also use these for indoor cage use as well without fear of damage if the netting gives. This weight stays on very well. My only knock on it is how difficult it is to get on certain bats because of the knobs on certain bats. I typically leave it on just one bat, because it is to cumbersome to be taking off and on. I would not use this in a similar fashion to a donut.

I 've used the baseball sized ones and the softball sized ones so I thought I would try the tiny golfball sized ones. They are soft any wo n't damage a window or something like that, but holy moly they fly farther than the bigger balls. And combined with their tiny size you will want to make sure you have enough space so you do n't lose they or hurt anyone, they do sting if you get hit.
