[ I am really happy with this ceiling rack. As I observed from other reviews on the internet, the installation time is mostly in making your ceiling tracks parallel in the right position to hit wood joists behind your drywall. I used more sturdy GRK hardware for mounting to the ceiling. After the tracks are up, installation is a breeze. My bikes have been up for 2 weeks ans I just ordered the two bike expansion for our Thule jogging stroller, too. Although the “ e ” clip hardware is not all that common, it seems plenty study for our two aluminum mountain bikes. It is pricey but overall the convenience is worth it, to me. If I was to install over again, I would put the tracks slightly closer to the walls in both directions. The instructions were a little generous on that guidance. As you can see in my photos, plenty of space to move your bikes if the tracks are too close to the wall. Ultimately i would mount as close to the wall as you can while still lining the holes/slots in the tracks up to your ceiling joists

I almost returned this bike rack because once I took it out of the box and studied how to put it together, I was a bit overwhelmed. I took it back to the store with this intention, when an employee of of the JC, MO store, Dan, told me he had done some research( as had I and talked with other cyclist) and both found that this is a highly remocommended and good quality bike rack. He said he had helped several customers put this on their car and he offered to help me, as well. I am so thankful and appreciative of the assistance that Dan provided. I am very pleased with my purchase and even more pleased with the customer service I received from Dan, who went way above and beyond to help me out! The only reason I have not given this product 5 stars is because I have not had a chance to transport my bike, yet. The season is still too cold for me! We were needing a system that allowed us to hang our two 12' kayaks on our garage wall, and allow easy access by one or two individuals, when needed. This system seems very sturdy and does not use up more space than is needed to hold both kayaks. I am very happy with my purchase of the Malone J - dock Kayak& Gear storage rack. Installation was easy. I did use a bigger drill bit than instructed to drill the pilot holes for the screws, and used socket rather than a wrench to make it easier on myself. The whole installation was about 20 minutes. Once installed, placing my kayaks in the cradles took about 10 minutes. The straps to hang the second kayak did not ratchet as easily as I would have liked, and I suggest using your own straps, having help to take weight off the straps while you ratchet them up, or using something under the kayak to hold it up while you tighten the straps. Either way, once they kayak is up and the straps tightened the kayaks are secure and the system is great! I also liked having the ability to store my paddles on the rack.

Originally I purchased the traditional car bike rack but with having two mountain bikes the fit was just two tight and the bikes were are odd angles. I returned it to Dicks with no issues and purchased this one. It took a few minutes to setup but for the most part it is pretty straightforward. The rack is not to heavy and works very well. It is not a heavy duty as the original bike rack I returned but I suspect it will hold up just fine. If I was to pick out any weak points it would be the plastic adjustment knobs other than it should be fine.
