works out my upper body quite well and the dipped end type handles are very comfortable, and sturdy. If those handles come off you either got to be chewing on them in your sleep or someones messing with your equipment. These types of handles do n't just slip on and off easy. Of course I know not to use these ropes also on abrasive surfaces like street asphalt or heavy rock gravel conditions. to do so is absurd to say the least. this is an awesome piece of equipment

I thought I was in pretty good shape until I tried this workout. My gym recently added this to their equipment and it is amazing. I have replaced one workout a week with the workout book included with this kit. It provides cardio, strength and endurance training all at once. When done properly, including the `` active rest '' excercies between sets, this has limitless potential. You get full range of motion and you are only limited by your effort. The rope will wear out over time and the ends will require re- taping or dipping in plastic but the benefits will outweigh any maintenance issues that arise from usage. Get it, use it and reap the rewards!

I like the weight in the rope rather than the handles. It rotates easily when jumping. The handle were a little slippery when I got into my workouts and the rope was a little curly at first but eventually straightened out.

I used to run a lot when I was younger just getting out of college, but then I stopped a little because my legs would get sore easy. I started reading up on jumping rope as a comparative exercise that has the same, if not better, benefits as running in less time. I saw a some other jump ropes that were somewhat bland and cheap looking, and then came across the weighted rope. It's been working like a charm. It is a little tangly/tight initially because of the material, but after a couple uses, it's fine. I sweat a lot when I workout, so my hands sometimes get slick and the handles could use a little more grip. Hopefully once my body gets more acclimated, it wo n't be an issue.

I lost the weight in the handle of a different weighted rope I was given as a gift awhile ago and needed a new rope. I chose the Lifeline rope because the weight is n't in the handles, its in the rope, which I wanted to compare to the weighted handle style. Its a different weorkout and a better one in my opinion. This rope has better rotation and I like the large handles. The rope was curly in the beginning but it straightened out the first time I used it.

5 stars are for a Lifeine Gym version I got in 1983. I still use it as I 'm on SSDI due spondylosis. It fits in the door and the cables allow you to lean at 45 degree angle stretching your shoulder joints and isolating your spinal chord, site of bone spurs. My version allows converts the handles into barbell or stand on the handles and pump the barbell fed cables, twisting for more resistance. It also allows those of us who can not sleep to stretch any time of day or night. My Lifeline Gym is the finest addition to anybody's home with aging family members.
