I recently built my first custom club set using the True Temper Dynamic Gold regular flex R300 shaft. I installed them on a set of Snake Eyes irons in 5- GW, with a finished length one inch longer than standard and they work great. Follow the tip trimming recommendations on the True Temper website and cut them to whatever length is right for you, the kick point will stay right on through your set. The only issue is availability. True Temper makes three versions of the `` regular flex '' they are R200, R300, and R400; each one progressively heavier in weight, which will change the swing weight when installed. The R300 is the standard weight and unfortunately it's the ONLY one available at Dicks. Overall a great purchase, I dont see myself using anything else in steel shafts as long as I play.

I broke the shaft on my 7 iron about a month ago and did n't want to get a new club so I inquired about fixing it at Dick's. I 'm glad I did... It took 2 days and the service was spectacular. I was back on the course in no time. The shaft that was installed was as advertised and I 've had no issues with it.

I bought this shaft to replace the stock shaft in my damaged Sim Max 6- iron. This Steel Fiber shaft has a 0. 370 tip which fit by iron perfectly. The finish on the Steel Fiber shaft is subdued but very premium looking- classy. Installation of the new shaft was fairly( thanks YouTube!). The performance of the upgraded club is excellent. Distance is slighty longer and and the dispersion appears better. The Steel Fiber shaft was slightly ligher than the stock shaft and the swing weight of the club did drop from D1 to D0( whiich was beneficial for me). I 've bought 4 more of these same shafts& plan to update my other irons as well.

My son needed to move to steel shafts and also to STIFF flex, he had been growing and finally pretty much maxed out and we had him tested with his swing speed and ball flight... WOW, the Stiff flex in these steel shafts gave him 10- 15 more yards each club...

I had shaft installed about a month ago and very happy with the performance!

5 Ben K
I needed to reshaft my Ben Hogan irons and wedges because as I 've progressed into my 60s I have lost clubhead speed. I needed a lightweight shaft that is available in regular flex and with a. 355 '' tip. After my local pro put some trials in two of my mid- irons to figure out the best match, I ordered the rest from Dick's online and had the local Dick's clubfitter in Johnson City do the work. It has turned out well and I 'm glad I did n't have to get a brand new set.

Frequently Asked Questions For Taper Tip Iron Shafts

Taper tip iron shafts are designed with a gradual reduction in diameter from the grip end to the tip, allowing for a more precise fit in the clubhead. This design can enhance the feel and performance of the club, particularly for players who prefer a certain type of feedback during their swing. In contrast, parallel shafts maintain a consistent diameter throughout, which can affect the overall balance and performance characteristics.

Taper tip iron shafts are typically made from steel or graphite, each offering distinct advantages. Steel shafts are known for their durability and consistency, while graphite shafts are lighter and can provide additional vibration dampening. The choice of material can significantly influence the feel, weight, and performance of the club.

When selecting taper tip iron shafts, consider factors such as your swing speed, playing style, and personal preferences for weight and flex. Additionally, the shaft's kick point and overall length can impact your shot trajectory and control. It's important to test different options to find the best fit for your game.

Yes, taper tip iron shafts can be suitable for golfers of all skill levels, but the best choice depends on individual playing style and preferences. Beginners may benefit from lighter shafts that offer more forgiveness, while advanced players might prefer the precision and control that taper tip designs provide. It's essential to evaluate your own game and possibly consult with a professional for tailored advice.

Taper tip iron shafts can influence various aspects of club performance, including accuracy, distance, and feel.
