These were my first pair of throwing shoes and they lasted for a while!! They are a great shoe for beginners since they aren ’ t too slick yet still enough where you can get a good rotation. I am a rotational shot putter and discus thrower in high school so I have definitely been doing lots of rotation. I recently got new shoes since my SDs wore out a bit and switched to a different brand, but I can confidently say that the SDs helped me feel more connected with the ground and I could really feel the ground as I was rotating.

The SD ’s are great shoes for beginner and intermediate throwers. Not a fast shoe but has good control. Good durability. Might be a bit tight and stiff for the first few throw sessions. Comfort level is average for a throw shoe.

Dick's Sporting goods is one of the few places to find these throwing shoes. Anyone hoping to do well MUST get a pair of proper shoes. They run true to size and color so you can buy with confidence. Obviously they are designed for rotational throwing and not the `` slide '' technique. The construction of these shoes holds up buy the soles will wear down over two seasons. Comfort is not the best but that is exactly how they are designed with a tight fit and high- center on the ball of the foot.

[ The Zoom Rotational 6 is an elite- level throwing/athletic shoe molded comfortably into the foot. I went true to size and the shoe fits just right with nice lockdown. This shoe offers amazing comfort with a perfect grip in the foot while spinning thanks to the ample rubber available on the sole and lip of the shoe. The rubber also acts as a toe protector which is a nice touch as well. Not only is the shoe very functional and durable, it is also very stylish making it possible to look good, feel good and throw good.

[ I just got a new pair of Nike track shoes and the rotation on them is great as well as them being durable. After a few days of practice they broke in well to my foot shape, while they aren ’ t worn all day long like a tennis shoe they are comfortable to wear during practices 1- 2 hours a day, the toe portion of the shoe is thick so it is perfect for a rotational thrower like myself. I would definitely recommend these shoes

[ I 've been throwing for 10+ years and have mostly only used Nike products. I roll pivot hard on my left foot so even though the plastic is shorter then some previous models it still gives adequate support and gives me the ability to do so. Not sure how it 'll hold up over time but they 're very comfortable so far with the classic Nike rotational speed. I usually wear a size 11 1/2 with socks, but I purchased a size 11 and the shoes are comfortable enough to fit with no socks
A track and field hammer is a heavy weight attached to a long handle, which athletes throw for distance in competitions. The event requires a combination of strength, technique, and timing, as athletes spin the hammer around their heads before releasing it. It is one of the throwing events in track and field, alongside the shot put, discus, and javelin.
Track and field hammers are typically made from materials such as steel or iron for the weight, and often feature a durable handle made from materials like fiberglass or steel. The choice of material affects the hammer's weight, balance, and durability, which can influence performance. Athletes often select hammers based on their weight class and personal preference for feel and handling.
Track and field hammers come in various weight categories, typically ranging from 4 kg to 7.26 kg for men and women, respectively. The weight of the hammer is crucial as it determines the division in competitions and is selected based on the athlete's experience and strength. Understanding these categories helps athletes choose the appropriate hammer for their training and competition.
When selecting a track and field hammer, consider factors such as weight, material, and handle length. The weight should match your competition category, while the material can influence durability and performance. Additionally, the handle length can affect your grip and throwing technique, so it’s important to choose one that feels comfortable and allows for optimal control.
The design of a track and field hammer, including its weight distribution and handle length, significantly impacts performance. A well-balanced hammer allows for smoother spins and better control during the throw. Furthermore, the grip and comfort of the handle can influence the athlete's technique and ultimately their throwing distance.
