I used them for a few different meals to see how easy they were to use and wash, and they passed all of those tests, including the greasy and the spaghetti sauce ones without leaving stains behind. They wash well with hand washing and in the dishwasher. The knife probably would n't cut foods like a tough steak, but it likely would cut most of the other foods. I used it to cut a burrito into bite- sized pieces, cut an omelet, cut a baked potato, spread butter and jam, etc and worked just fine.

When it's time to stop digging through your institution's/outfitters's fleet of incomplete kitchen totes with random crusty tools from decades ago, consider this set for one- stop shopping. It has pretty much all the tools I want on a group trip or front country kitchen. I like the way it interlocks to pack small( and, more critically, more easy to find in the group kitchen tote common to many programs.) Turns out the bears enjoy when we cook outdoors, too. The set is really well- made, with nice heavy heaviness to them, sharp blades. The meat fork thing could be a bit longer in my opinon, but the tongs are nice and will keep your hands out of the fire. The leather case is nice and thick-- you do n't have to worry about getting poked with any of the pointy things in there. They also are really nice- looking, which is a plus!

[ These knives are seriously sharp! I can tell how dull my other knives are now and how lax I 've gotten in my handling of them from the couple of Knicks I 've gotten already, all of my own fault. The sheaths that come with them are super handy, and while I probably would n't use the bag around the house, it would be great if taking these camping or traveling at all.
