Great quality trout hard bait, used it a few times now while out trout fishing. Does n't get hung up and clears the weeds easily. Looks like a real fish swimming through water and the hard bait has great action. Unfortunately, though it has n't produced a hit yet by a trout. I use these lures in various sizes to troll for striped bass in the Chesapeake and they work very well. I use them in different sizes depending on the depth of the water, but the swimming action and rattle make are great for enticing fish to bite. They also have a good erratic action when cast and twitched on a slack line, which causes reaction strikes.

I bought this specific color( pilchard) to mimic the greenies and they worked great. I was fishing for Spanish mackerel at Sebastian Inlet and casting next to people using Gotcha lures, silver spoons, and jigs and I was easily outfishing them. I was casting into the breeze and was still getting a decent distance thanks to the casting weights inside the X- Rap. I would recommend the X- Rap for anyone fishing for Spanish mackerel. In my experience, it also catches plenty of bluefish, but I would recommend changing the hooks out to 4X hooks. The hooks that come with the lure tends to bend too easily from the violent head shaking bluefish tend to do.

Incredible lure right here... something about it is like the husky jerk but on steroids.. sometimes the husky jerk will out perform but when it gets down to it this monster catches big big fish for me. 43 inch 22lb northern took this and attempted to run, best fish of the year and that ’s saying something. The KVD 200 dives between 4- 7 feet on a braid to 10 lb, 12 foot fluorocarbon leader depending on how far you cast and how long you crank it down. I 'm able to cast it like a bullet on both a spinning and baitcasting rod because of the weight transfer system and shape of the bait. It has a wide, erratic darting action that works well to trigger a strike. The bait does suspend on the pause in water temps between 62 F and 72 F that I 've used it. I was very impressed with the realism of the natural bream color I ordered and it seemed to fool the bass too. Sharp hooks, but not sticky sharp. Overall a good jerkbait to keep in my rotation that does n't break the bank.
