Hey these are good lures! How I know? First time I used it I hooked an absolute monster bass in a heavily fished area of a heavily fished lake, a rare occurrence. I have doing well on rainbow trout with the CD- 1& CD- 5 silver( Cant seem to find the CD- 3 ever). I prefer the CountDown( sinking) over the original( floating) models. Floating models are too light to cast well. The CD- 1 really seem to work well for trout, simulate minnows the trout feed on. Nice slow retrieve. They will ignore one size totally and then hit on a different size lure minutes apart so keep a couple different sizes and try until you find the one they want. Work for Bass as well.

This is similar to the Mytsery Tackle Box, which I also think is a great gift. But I am very happy I bought this as a Christmas gift for my father, for serendipitous reasons. Storytime: every May, he and I take a guided weekend fishing trip up to Lake St. Clair. We always bring and use our own tackle, and last trip our guide took us to a spot we had never fished before. It was weedy, and I ended up throwing a weedless jig I had in my tackle box, which matched the color that we always have the most success( e. g. Rapala Blue Ghost color). It was a swim jig, and I added a Powerbait craw trailer. In that one section, I landed a dozen bass in the 2- 4 pound range. It was very weedy with a lot of slop, and the jig moved perfectly through everything without getting hung up, or getting covered in slop with each cast. The problem was that( a) I only had one jig of that type and color; and( b) I had ZERO IDEA of the brand! I spent many hours online afterwards trying to find the exact jib for purchase, with zero luck... until my father opened the Rapala Bass Boom Box. As he pulled each item out... he took out the EXACT jig I used( climax: it is the Thunder Hawk Mouse Head Grass Jig). This product works exactly as described. I would have given this 5 stars but the mounting hardware that comes with the item is not worth 2 cents. I went to install and the wall anchors( no lip) actually went all the way through the wall so I just ended up using some wall anchors with a rounded lip that I already had. As far as the item, it works like a charm. It holds my 5 rods like I was expecting and without being too close together.
