I use these lures in various sizes to troll for striped bass in the Chesapeake and they work very well. I use them in different sizes depending on the depth of the water, but the swimming action and rattle make are great for enticing fish to bite. They also have a good erratic action when cast and twitched on a slack line, which causes reaction strikes.

I bought this specific color( pilchard) to mimic the greenies and they worked great. I was fishing for Spanish mackerel at Sebastian Inlet and casting next to people using Gotcha lures, silver spoons, and jigs and I was easily outfishing them. I was casting into the breeze and was still getting a decent distance thanks to the casting weights inside the X- Rap. I would recommend the X- Rap for anyone fishing for Spanish mackerel. In my experience, it also catches plenty of bluefish, but I would recommend changing the hooks out to 4X hooks. The hooks that come with the lure tends to bend too easily from the violent head shaking bluefish tend to do.

Largest fish it's had on was only about 3 pounds so far, so we 'll have to see if it can hold up to a monster. As an old wrestling coach it is far better to use this when you drill and want to keep track of reps in a drill than for time. This product works exactly as described. I would have given this 5 stars but the mounting hardware that comes with the item is not worth 2 cents. I went to install and the wall anchors( no lip) actually went all the way through the wall so I just ended up using some wall anchors with a rounded lip that I already had. As far as the item, it works like a charm. It holds my 5 rods like I was expecting and without being too close together.
