This is a great artificial. Cast it out, real it back in fairly fast and feel the strikes. I 've caught Red's, Snook, Lady Fish( I know but they 're fun to catch), and Mackerel( Spanish and King). I do however change out the Treble hook with a tougher# 4. The hooks that come on it are a little on the cheap side. Minor inconvenience for a great bait.

I use them in different sizes depending on the depth of the water, but the swimming action and rattle make are great for enticing fish to bite. They also have a good erratic action when cast and twitched on a slack line, which causes reaction strikes.

I bought this specific color( pilchard) to mimic the greenies and they worked great. I was fishing for Spanish mackerel at Sebastian Inlet and casting next to people using Gotcha lures, silver spoons, and jigs and I was easily outfishing them. I was casting into the breeze and was still getting a decent distance thanks to the casting weights inside the X- Rap. I would recommend the X- Rap for anyone fishing for Spanish mackerel. In my experience, it also catches plenty of bluefish, but I would recommend changing the hooks out to 4X hooks. The hooks that come with the lure tends to bend too easily from the violent head shaking bluefish tend to do.

I have the 6th Sense Provoke jerkbait in both sizes and various colors. The hooks are sticky sharp, as all 6th sense hooks are, and these are no exception. They are noticeably sharper than hooks on any lure I 've purchased out of the package. Tying a knot can be challenging because the hooks are so sharp that you will constantly get poked. These are great lures which attract some big bass, I have personal experience. When pulled they give a thumping vibration, that's a big part of its attraction, as well as very good action for a deep jerkbait. Tough to lose one as they cost a pretty penny, but honestly if you love jerkbait fishing like I do you 'll love these lures, the shallow version are good as well.
