This is a great artificial. Cast it out, real it back in fairly fast and feel the strikes. I 've caught Red's, Snook, Lady Fish( I know but they 're fun to catch), and Mackerel( Spanish and King). I do however change out the Treble hook with a tougher# 4. The hooks that come on it are a little on the cheap side. Minor inconvenience for a great bait.

In June, I used the chartreuse and silver Catch 2000 on the flats in Apalachee Bay south of St. Marks, FL. The water was tea- colored but clear, and there was a lot of lose floating grass in the water. After the fifth or sixth cast, something hit the lure so hard that it about yanked my shoulders out of their sockets. I use them in different sizes depending on the depth of the water, but the swimming action and rattle make are great for enticing fish to bite. They also have a good erratic action when cast and twitched on a slack line, which causes reaction strikes.

I bought this specific color( pilchard) to mimic the greenies and they worked great. I was fishing for Spanish mackerel at Sebastian Inlet and casting next to people using Gotcha lures, silver spoons, and jigs and I was easily outfishing them. I was casting into the breeze and was still getting a decent distance thanks to the casting weights inside the X- Rap. I would recommend the X- Rap for anyone fishing for Spanish mackerel. In my experience, it also catches plenty of bluefish, but I would recommend changing the hooks out to 4X hooks. The hooks that come with the lure tends to bend too easily from the violent head shaking bluefish tend to do.

I have the 6th Sense Provoke jerkbait in both sizes and various colors. The hooks are sticky sharp, as all 6th sense hooks are, and these are no exception. They are noticeably sharper than hooks on any lure I 've purchased out of the package. Tying a knot can be challenging because the hooks are so sharp that you will constantly get poked. The KVD 200 dives between 4- 7 feet on a braid to 10 lb, 12 foot fluorocarbon leader depending on how far you cast and how long you crank it down. I 'm able to cast it like a bullet on both a spinning and baitcasting rod because of the weight transfer system and shape of the bait. It has a wide, erratic darting action that works well to trigger a strike. The bait does suspend on the pause in water temps between 62 F and 72 F that I 've used it. I was very impressed with the realism of the natural bream color I ordered and it seemed to fool the bass too. Sharp hooks, but not sticky sharp. Overall a good jerkbait to keep in my rotation that does n't break the bank.
