I 've been using some various other products and namely some from hardware storage not built for fishing specifically and it pays to get them from Plano. The buckles are firm and do n't beat up your fingers opening them up. They are n't the best when stacking if you wanted to nest them top down and I would love to see more functional spaced with being able to remove a larger section without cutting internal walls but that said you can make it work. For the money they perform better then expected. I 've not had much time with them to speak of the durability but for out of the box and into the boat they seem tough enough to withstand the weather.- Tight lines!

I have one of these. It is massive. It is solid as well. I think I 've accidentally bumped the top of against a ceiling at least 4 or 5 times and not a scratch on it, no dents or cracks either. I have been able to fit an absolute ton of stuff in it. Aerodynamic? Sort of. It will reduce your MPGs by at least 4- 5mpg on the highway. But you are getting a super huge place to store items. Rugged, built well. If you do n't abuse it, it will last.

We checked the bolts during stops and there were a few times we had to tighten them, but they were never loose enough that it would fall off. Killer box for fishing trips. I picked up this box because I do multiple days fishing trips around the country and this box holds everything organized. The zippers in the lid lets me store leader materials and my items that I do n't need immediate access to, while the organizer lets me put my pliers, shears, PR bobbin and all the other goodies I need access to quickly. I the divider in the middle so I can keep boxes for hooks on one side and not have to worry about them sliding over while the boat is moving hitting the other side. The trickiest part for me was positioning the box just right—I prefer to have it centered on the roof, as we often access gear from both sides depending on the situation. The XL size is a great fit for an SUV. Due to the design of our crossbars, we did need to shift the box back a bit further than we initially wanted, which prevents the trunk from opening fully. However, this is entirely our choice, and I do n't fault Thule for this minor issue. We took the roof box on a skiing trip right away, and it held our 4 skis and poles with ease! I bought this roof bag the night we were going out of town. We drove 18 hours and experienced heavy rain. The bag stayed in place with the straps provided even though the straps feel a little stiff, they were still strong and flexible. Everything was dry upon arrival. On our drive back everything inside was damp from heavy rain but I think the flap that covers the zipper was flipped up. It should be ok as long as you don ’ t overstuff the bag and you ’ re careful about covering the zipper all the way around, you ’ ll be fine. If you have an option to get 20+cu, get the larger one. Everyone said these were huge and while our stuff fit, I could ’ ve used a roomier bag to eliminate extra inside cargo. This is for a one week trip for two adults and four children.
