This is my first purchase of On shoes-- I generally buy cheaper shoes but then have to use inserts after about a month to maintain comfort. These were more pricy than I usually buy, but they were on sale, and so far I have zero regrets.- They are very comfortable. I do n't even notice them.- They are lighter colored and I am clumsy; I expected them to be stained within a couple days. I have been pleased to find that dirt/grime/spills wipe off of them easily.- I can be on my feet all day and my feet are n't tired To be honest, the only `` complaint '' I have so far is that the laces do n't stay tied all the time. Sometimes I have to retie them. I can live with that. Also( and this has nothing to do with the shoes) this is the first time I 've ever ordered from Dick 's and they made the ordering and delivery process a pleasure. I am a size 7. 5 and generally wear an 8 in Nike sneakers( Pegasus, etc.) so that I have room in the toes in case my feet swell a little from heat or hiking, etc. I ordered the Metcon in my normal Nike size of 8 and my big toe is basically at the tip of the shoe, so I need to exchange them for an 8. 5. If I was using them for hiking or anything I thought would make my feet swell, I might even size up to a 9 which would be absolutely wild! These are my comfiest Ryka 's and I own several pairs of Ryka 's in different styles. By comfy I mean soft and cushiony. These are not extremely supportive like Hokas which can be stiff. I walk over a mile to and from work on city sidewalks and am up and about all day. These shoes help keep me moving.

The Devoted Walking Sneaker 's design is brilliant. At first, you think, what 's with this toebox! The width feels just right but the fabric top is oddly roomy with airspace above your toes. The fabric is not stretched tightly, so it 's a bit loose. Your toes can move. Toe bumps are n't rubbed. PLUS the heel is snug. So, when you lace up, your feet stay put and do n't shift around. The snug heel plus roomy toebox mean your metatarsals do n't get pinched or achy. ALL THIS, PLUS the shoe bed is super comfortable with incredible cushioning front and back. For me, the cushioning is so good that I do n't even need my custom orthotics for bad metatarsals, something I 've required for 30 years. fyi my other favorite Ryka model for daily use is Devotion X Walking Shoe, which provides a fit that 's more tailored with fabulous cushioning, also no orthotics needed. I wear my Rykas for everyday/all day use, long walks, and driving( 5- on- the- floor w/ firm clutch).

From what I 've been told, it is recommended that you take a stroll in new running shoes to warm them up and stretch them out a bit. However, I took these shoes on a run fresh out of the box and it felt great. This is not normal for me by the way. I 'm a flat- footed monster with wide feet and if the shoe does n't fit while I 'm running, it can get extremely painful. The Pegasus always seem to deliver for me. Neutral running shoes work the best for my flat feet and I 'm so happy with my purchase. I look forward to using this bad boy as my daily. I 'm 5' 1 '', and wear a 6. 5 in womens running shoes. Size up half a size for wide footed monsters.

I have had the ride 17 for several months now and I LOVE these shoes! I enjoyed my previous rides( 15) but I did have several small issues with them and the ride 17s have fixed all of these issues! The ride 15s always felt a little narrow on my foot and they were hard to get on…the 17s fit wider and my foot slips into them easily! I have actually considered going down half a size but I live in an area that gets very hot in summer so decided to stick with my size 7s to allow for swollen feet! The previous 15s had very short laces and I had trouble doing double knots for race day…the 17s have lovely long laces so no need now for double knots! There is now a loop on the back of the heel which really helps with getting the shoe on! And they are. very cushioned as well as being responsive! I have been able to do faster sprint workouts( strides) which is really helping with my confidence for improving my next half marathon time! I have a spring half I am preparing for as well as a fall marathon, and although I would love to move up to a plated shoe( such as the endorphin speed 4) my budget doesn ’ t allow for another purchase right now so I will stick with the 17s.

These were a replacement for another pair of ride17 that I had worn out. I spend most of my day on my feet on concrete so cushion is important. I also under- pronate and have plantar fasciitis so it is hard to find shoes that do n't make my feet ache. I tried a different style( triumph) at the recommendation from the shoe store but my feet screamed at me by the end of a few hours. I LOVE these shoes and I hope they keep making them as they are defineatly my favorite!
