My boys prefer these briefs for their athletic use. I wish that we could find them without the given cups, as the are young and prefer a soft cup. They are true to size: my 60 lb 7 yo is in a sm, my 103 lb 11 yo prefers the youth xl.

I 've tried various cups and shorts for karate, and these are by far the most comfortable. The cup is soft but sturdy, and offers great protection for those unexpected blows( also machine washable). The shorts are fantastic, and feature Shock Doctor's Ultra Cup Retention System, which is by far the best I 've seen for maintaining cup position. There is a flap at the top of the cup pocket for keeping the cup down and straps at the base of the pocket which go under and connect to the back, keeping the pocket pulled back. The cup never strayed, even during squats, kicks, or sprints. If you want consistent, comfortable protection, this cup/short combo will do the trick.

My son has tried many similar products, but when he would get in his crouch to catch, the cup would always end up way out of position. This unique system worked so well we bought three more!

My son plays catcher and has used a few different cups for protection. He talked me into this one and claims the plastic shock absorbs when hit and states this is the best setup yet!

My daughter chose these softball pants for the brand and the shorter length. The waistband is stretchy and the snaps are easy to maneuver for her. We purchased a size small and she ’s an average- size 8- year- old.
Youth slider shorts are specialized athletic shorts designed to provide protection and comfort during sliding activities in sports like baseball and soccer. They typically feature padding in key areas to minimize the risk of injury while allowing for a full range of motion. These shorts are essential for young athletes who frequently slide into bases or tackle on the field.
Youth slider shorts are often made from a blend of moisture-wicking fabrics that help keep young athletes dry and comfortable during play. Many designs incorporate spandex or elastane for added stretch and flexibility, allowing for unrestricted movement. Additionally, some models may feature reinforced padding made from durable materials to enhance protection.
When selecting youth slider shorts, it's important to consider both waist size and the fit style. Most brands provide a size chart that correlates waist measurements with age or size categories. It's advisable to measure the child's waist and refer to the chart to ensure a snug yet comfortable fit, as this will enhance performance and protection during play.
While youth slider shorts are primarily designed for sports that involve sliding, such as baseball and soccer, they can also be beneficial in other sports that require quick movements and agility. The padded design offers protection during falls or tackles, making them versatile for various athletic activities. However, it's best to choose shorts that are specifically tailored for the sport in question.
When shopping for youth slider shorts, look for features such as moisture-wicking fabric, padded protection, and a comfortable fit. Additionally, consider shorts with reinforced seams for durability and those that offer a variety of styles to suit personal preferences. Some designs may also include pockets or additional ventilation to enhance comfort during play.
