[ I was in the market for a serious summer sun hat instead of the cheap ones available at all of the big box stores. After much research I decided on Sunday Afternoons Ultra Adventure Hat. I received it and I 'm lovin' it! The first thing I noticed was the air I could feel circulating on the top of my bald head. Having vents on your hat are important, however, they usually allow burning sun rays to filter through. Usually I have to decide between being sunburned without a hat or hot with a hat. The Ultra Adventure hat has happily made that decision for me with its ultraviolet protection factor of 50+, including the mesh panels. No more polka dot sunburned head! Also, its so light weight you can forget you have it on. It is really the lightest hat I have owned. Its hard to believe it can do its job and be so light on your head. The downward sloping 3 ¼ ” brim shades my entire face and the cape keeps the sun off my neck, which is another great design feature. This hat gives protection to head, face, neck and ears without being obtrusive. Other features include a sunglass lock that holds your glasses in place. It works too. I have tried to shake my head to dislodge them and they stay put. Also, if taking a hat in a back pack is an issue for you, this hat folds in half at the brim and can be kept in your pocket. Without a doubt, this is the best hat on the market and worth every penny. I urge people to give this hat a try if you are shopping for the best hat out there. Since its guaranteed for life, it will probably be the last sun hat you need to buy!! You may want to buy more though as soon as everyone sees how cool it is!

Husband has a similar hat, but it's black and grey with the flag made of fishes; he saw someone with the exact same colors but tree version and said he liked it. Hopped on Columbia's site to investigate. We chose this black and grey version with the color fade to `` change it up '' and add `` a little more color '' to his wardrobe( in his words... lol). That being said the peach/blue/green color fade in the flag is pretty. Overall nice hat!

I wear one for work where my hat has a mountain ridge line of sweat going across it. It has n't warped and the elastic bands still fit snug to my head without the usual looseness that happens after hats get wet or are worn too much in activities that have excessive movements involved. It's also held up after being doused in rain storms. I 've been able to keep it on while hiking in the wind because of the chinstrap. It's water resistant. Plus it packs well. And most importantly, I like the colors- gray and pink.

This is a great hat for boating and kayaking in the Florida sun. It is comfortable and keeps most of the sun of my face. Also not too hot to wear.. It's nice to have a big hat that can be stuffed into a tiny dry bag in the evenings when the sun goes down.

This is a great hat. It travels very well and is adjustable for comfort. Really stays put without being too tight. Plus worked fine in a light rain, drying quickly. I love it and I do n't really like wearing most hats.

Great hat! Super functional and looks good with everything... meaning I will wear it beachside, poolside, at the river or in the garden... you get the point. This hat can take a beating in my bag and still look cute while I sit in the stands at my kids' soccer games.

[ I love the design of this rain/hiking hat. It has a nice felt lining and is wind resistant. Although this hat protects from the sun's harmful RAY 'S, it is not meant for really hot weather due to the felt lining( meant to keep your head warm). Outdoor Research makes sun hats that are more suited to the desert or really hot climates.

[ I go to the YMCA pool and met a nice couple that each had OR hats. I inquired about their hats. I liked what I heard so I purchased one for me and my husband. I love this hat I because it fits well, protects me from the sun and it is waterproof. I wear it when doing water exercise and when riding bike. I also purchased the Sombriolet sun hat which has a wider brim, vents and a chord to tighten to my head. I use both and I am very pleased because of the functionality and quality. PS I still use my baseball cap and visors.

[ This Hat does its job well. Light weight. Water resistant. Easily stuffed in a bag for storage. Retains it's shape after storage. I hav n't yet needed to use this hat in heavy rain, but it seemed to work well in light rain
