I got this hat because the brim is slightly smaller than my full on sun hat, so it ’s not as awkward to wear in the car or indoors, but still provides a good amount of sun protection. I got the goldenrod color, and it ’s a little darker in person, but still a cool color. It does seem to run a little small compared to my other hats of the same size, so if you ’ re in between sizes, probably best to size up. Oh, and the sunglasses holder is awesome! After having them in a couple of sun hats, I would never want to buy one without.

I obtained my hat in a bit different way, it washed up on our beach. Someone on a boat is missing it greatly. I had been wearing Tiiley hats but I like this one much better. The brim is stiffer which is a great benefit out sailing on breezy days. The adjustable band allows fitting the hat perfectly. It is fraying, and after receiving the new one, I realized how flat it was, but it held up well for a decade. I bought a second one around 2016. I bought it because one was not enough for colder weather. That might sound like a negative, but I like layering these. They are flat, and I always keep them in the breast pocket of my jacket. When I need one, I wear it. When I need more warmth, I add another. It's layering for your head. I think they are remarkably warm for as thin as they are. For years I rode my bicycle to work, and I did n't stop during the cold months. The great thing about these headbands is I can adjust my helmet a little bigger and wear one or two of these underneath. The third one I bought recently will replace the one I have had since 2010. The fourth one I just purchased is for me wife. It 'll will be her first one, but she really likes mine, so I bought her one. Even though it is wool, it is not itchy. This is a great headband, and I highly recommend it.

[ The hat seems to fit well as I do have a relatively large head. It blocks sun well. Given I live in Florida, I have not been able to test in the rain yet. I read conflicting reviews on how waterproof it is. I plan to use for long hime in Portugal later this month. If I encounter torrential downpours, I will also have a waterproof hood to wear over top. I think the color I purchased is fine for what I need.

I love boonie hats, but the Sport Hat can keep out all angles of sunlight. It is feathery light on your head, but it is still rugged. This is my third one as others finally wore out or got damaged. This hat will stay in place in a strong wind if you cinch down the chin strap. I wear it kayaking on big expanses of water with no wind break. The L/XL hat fit me well. I hope that Sunday Afternoons keeps selling these hats forever.
