The material is a bit wrinkled from packaging but I think it will smooth out. I 'm 5' 7 '' 130 lbs and ordered a small, was n't sure how it would fit since I would normally go for a medium in jackets, but saw this was loose fit and have heard Carhartt run large. The sleeves of the small were good but I was absolutely drowning in the rest of it so got an extra small, and it was a much better fit! When I tried it on with a sweatshirt underneath, the sleeves of the extra small were a touch tight when bending my elbows, but I think it will break in just fine. Great jacket, hope this can help folks with sizing. Did n't have any trouble with the zipper the way other people have described, it's a big metal double zipper and takes a little effort but nothing crazy.

The weather can be bipolar very often, so if it's 35 degrees outside at the beginning of the day and hot later, I like the fact that I can carry a lightweight jacket around and stuff it in my backpack when I 'm not wearing it. Unlike some puff jackets, they can be very heavy and bulky. The jacket is ideal for 35+ degree weather or a little under if you layer well underneath. Also, keep in mind my 35- degree weather may feel warmer to others who live in areas that get lots of snow and wind. I have n't had the chance to wash it, but the material seems like it will hold up well in a normal wash cycle. I think I may have needed to go to a smaller size, I had plenty of space in the jacket zipped.

I like the color and the overall look. The sleeves are much too long for me( I can often wear petite), but at the same time I had to go to a size for it to fit my hips. [ This coat is extremely nice. It is heavy and even the arms seem insulated enough which you sometimes do n't see. It is a lot nicer than my previous coat from a different outdoor retailer. The sleeves are kind of small compared to my last jacket but I think it is due to the insulation and it is not uncomforable. In fact I feel more mobile in this jacket than my last. I am 5' 5 and it is pretty long but that is okay, I want to stay warm so long is what I want. It does n't seem to restrict movement. Two things about the shape are odd but not dealbreakers. The hood w/ the fur on is really large and flops over into my face even though I have a large head. I like that it will keep me warm that way but it is n't great visibilty. The in line pockets are weird! The angle is hard to get your hands into and I definintely would n't carry things in them. They need to be angled a little for more comfort and function. The good news is on top of those there are functional pockets with flaps that snap so you can still put your phone and keys safely in. I usually wear between a large and xl and so I got the xl and I am glad I did for layering purposes.

I live in Chicago and have a 10 minute walk to the train every morning. I knew I wanted a real down coat for the winter, but some of them are so ridiculously expensive. This coat has been a lifesaver this winter. So warm, even in below zero temperatures I feel totally warm. I am 5'11 '', 150 lbs and got a size medium. The coat goes down to my knees I can easily wear a thick wool sweater and still have room to move. I could probably have sized down to a small, but I like the roominess.

I wanted a jacket with Sherpa lining in the inside. For some reason it keeps me warmer. That ’s the main reason I bought it. The quality of these Columbia jackets does not disappoint. I wish the pockets to keep your hands warm had thicker lining. That ’s the only negative I can think of. The rest of the jacket is solid

I bought this in preparation for a trip where I was expecting temps in the low 40s, wind, and rain, but needed a few easily accessible pockets, too. This coat worked perfectly for me, keeping me dry, warm, and relatively protected from the wind( with the hood), too. The lack of an inner pocket was a bit of a miss, but the two outer breast pockets worked well for my phone and( when traveling, and worried about pickpockets) wallet.

[ The fit was perfect, the color is very nice. Have n't tried it in the rain yet. The sherpa lining is soft, comfortable and warm. Excellent jacket all around.

[ I ’ ve only had this jacket for about a week now, but so far I absolutely love it. It keeps me nice and warm for the tough upstate NY winters and it ’s very lightweight. I ’ m very happy it is down filled as well and it uses a YKK zipper which I was happy to see. Also, I love the unique design holding the inner and outer shells together and how vibrant the color is.
