This has been my go- to snowshoe for 2 years now and they have n't let me down yet. I keep the back strap at the same spot and just adjust them each time I go out with the spin function at the top of my foot. It stays put no matter the incline or uneven path. I rarely have to re- tighten or adjust them once they are on. I leave them outside in the back of my pick- up for the next adventure and no string or strap has ever broken on me. They are very durable. Would definitely buy again.

I 've tried several kinds of snowshoes but love my Yukon Charlie's Advanced SPIN Snowshoes. Since I have Raynaud's and my hands get very painful when they get cold, it's such a joy to be able to turn the dial to get the perfect fit. Once the back strap is the right length for your boots, if you always snowshoe with the same boots, you only need to open the front binding- and it opens with one pull of the release cord. Easy peasey. The price point is amazing for what you get, especially if you get the kit that includes poles with snow baskets. In summer, you can remove the baskets and use the poles for hiking; and if you lose or break a ski pole, these will work for skiing too( with snow baskets on). Since my 2016 Elite SPIN snowshoes are still good as new, I 'm confident my Advanced SPIN snowshoes will last a long time too.

We tried our Yukon Charlies ’s snowshoes for a full week in Steamboat, CO. Loved them on groomed trails, fresh snow, powder snow. Our conclusion is that they were perfect for flat trails, a bit more difficult to use in downhill, steep slopes, as they had a tendency to slide forward. Loved the SPIN binding system but had one bad experience with the pull down system, as the cord broke and my shoe got stuck in the closed binder. May be a quality issue of the Northwave dial system that YC ’s should retest…

[ I recently bought these boots for my child, and My kid ’s really happy with the purchase. The boots are easy to put on and take off, thanks to flexible design, which is great for busy mornings. They fit well, with enough room for growth but not too loose that they slip off. The insulation keeps my child ’s feet warm even in cold weather, and the waterproof material holds up well in rain and snow, so no soggy socks! The soles have good traction, making them safe for slippery sidewalks or playgrounds. Overall, they ’ re durable, comfortable, and look great — perfect for both school and outdoor adventures.

Great snowshoe for a great price. When you 're starting out and you are n't sure if you want to invest in an expensive pair, these are perfect. Good traction, heel lifts, easy on, easy off. Good exercise and lots of fun, too. I ca n't jog in these weather conditions, but I can snowshoe for hours. Bought a pair for my girlfriend, too.

5 Pam Zietse
I love my new snowshoes. It makes me want to be outside more:)

Southern Girl moves to Ohio. One month later, decides to join Peak Snowshoe race in Vermont. Does hours of research on snowshoes.. reviews, videos, social media.. decides to go with' the Yukons'. Has best time ever! Never put on a pair.. picked the best. I was able to focus on technique and breathing, and NOT the shoe. Seriously.. the shoe is so perfect, its like it's not there. Third day training, met experienced snowshoer.. who was wearing Yukons! Told me I `` got lucky '' with my first pair. March 7th.. I 'll be in Vermont with confidence..' cause Yukon Charlie will be with me!

5
I have used my run snowshoes several times this winter( would have been more but snow has been limited) the binding system works very efficiently and stays secure throughout the entire run/hike. The crampons provide excellent traction as the conditions were a combination of powder and icy snow. I ran mostly single track and this model was quick and maneuverable as i made adjustments due to surface and elevation changes. They are very light and reactive to sudden changes in directions.

5
I got these lightweight snowshoes for my kids because they like running in snowshoes, but have borrowed them a few times because they 're so much fun! The shorter length, light weight, and axle system make them easy to walk or run in. The one- pull bindings are easy to use and stay on well. Just make sure the ball of your foot is over the metal plate, secure the heel strap, and you ’ re good to go!

Unbeatable traction and extremely lightweight. It almost feels like there's nothing on your feet.

5 Eugene
These rock. Did a long 7 hour hike, lots of steep icey grades, mixed snow, work better than expected. I would highly recommend this product.

5
I bought the lightning accents for work and pleasure uses. I love how quiet they are compared to hard plastic shoes. The bindings keep my foot secure and the heel bar is much appreciated when going up steep grades.

5 Snow C.
I snowshoe every weeknd all around Quebec, HighPeaks in Adirondaks and White mountains

5
I have taken these snowshoes out on 2 trips. One was 2 1/2 hours and the other was 3 1/2 hours. They performed great and would recommend these to anyone who is active in the winter outdoors! The one issue I had and it was n't much, was that the straps kept coming out of the little clips that hold them once you tighten them up. They never came apart, it is just the straps were loose a lot of the time, even though I would re- engage them??

Earlier this winter I rented a set of snowshoes to go with a friend. I enjoyed it so much that I bought these Cascade Mountain Tech shoes from Dick's online. I have been extremely pleased with them and have been out with them 8- 9 times in the past three weeks. Two weeks ago, I took another friend out for his first time and he bought the same ones, also from Dick's online.

Really enjoy these snowshoes... excellent traction, good on steeper slopes, icy surfaces, bright colour. They have stood up very well.

5 Figment
Bought these as soon as they came out because I saw a prototype at the Banff Mt. Film Festival last year and have coveted them ever since. I LOVE them! Had a pair of Lightning Ascents before, but hated the 3- strap bindings-- hard to get on and off, did n't stay on. The ratchets are perfect. They never come off in use-- but are easy to put on and take off when I want to. Only problem I had was during wet borderline freezing conditions, one ratchet buckle froze up-- but easy enough to wiggle around and get it working again. These have become my go- to snowshoes-- and I have many pairs of other styles.

5 Sweedish F.
Seriously one well built snowshoe system. Lightweight but the frame is a beast. The decking and bindings, use and time will tell, but both appear solid. The revised HyperLink Binding is the primary reason I chose this shoe. Ease of entry and how well they hold to my boot is outstanding. But the most significant improvement over my old shoes is the entire binding `` '' tracks '' ''; there is little lateral movement, making them so much more comfortable and efficient. The 360 Traction Frame is grippy as you could possibly need. But it also allows for a more even foot placement on packed and uneven trails. Tube frames lay on the contour of the crunchy stuff while the Traction Frame cuts through and sets more evenly. It's kind of a big deal. 240 pounds with a 30 '' '' shoe. Would not want to go smaller, and there is no need to. Really easy to maneuver. Larger shoes carry so much better in the deep stuff, so I would advocate going larger if you are in doubt. Because there is not much more weight between lengths and maneuverability is not compromised.

5 Davidlkay
Very lightweight. Bindings are easy to get in/out of and adjust to size.

5
I really like' em. My first choice for most conditions. Add the tails next. I like the simple but efficient harness system. Easier than Boa! So maneuverable. Nothing grips better than MSR. They shed the sticky snow quite nicely as well. I like the lightweight design. In extremely deep powder or super soft conditions, I go back to my Tubbs 9X36 '' ''. They feel like clubs after using the MSR's, but the extra surface is sometimes nice.

Frequently Asked Questions For Comfortable Snow Shoes

When searching for comfortable snow shoes, consider features such as a lightweight design that allows for easy maneuverability and extended wear. Look for adjustable bindings that provide a secure fit, as well as a cushioned footbed for added comfort during long treks. Additionally, traction features like crampons or textured soles can enhance stability on various terrains, making your experience more enjoyable. Finally, ensure the snow shoes have a suitable width and length to accommodate your footwear and provide adequate flotation in snow.

To determine the right size for snowshoes, start by considering your weight and the type of terrain you plan to traverse. Most snowshoe manufacturers provide sizing charts that correlate your weight with the appropriate snowshoe size. Additionally, ensure that the snowshoes fit comfortably with your winter footwear, allowing for adequate movement without being too tight. It's also helpful to try on the snowshoes with the socks you intend to wear to ensure a proper fit.

Comfortable snow shoes are typically made from a combination of lightweight and durable materials to enhance performance and comfort. Common materials include high-density polyethylene for the frame, which provides strength and flexibility, and nylon or synthetic fabrics for the decking, offering water resistance and breathability. Additionally, many snow shoes feature cushioned straps and bindings made from soft, adjustable materials to ensure a secure and comfortable fit during use.

Yes, there are specific snowshoe styles designed to accommodate various types of terrain. For instance, some snowshoes are built for flat, packed trails, while others are designed for more rugged, uneven surfaces. Features such as traction systems, frame shapes, and weight can vary to enhance performance in different conditions, including deep snow or icy paths. Choosing the right style can improve your experience and efficiency while snowshoeing.

The weight capacity for snow shoes can vary based on the design and materials used. Many models are engineered to support a range of weights, typically accommodating users from around 120 to 300 pounds. It is important to check the specifications of individual snow shoes to ensure they meet your specific needs for comfort and performance in snowy conditions.

Comfortable snow shoes are designed to provide better support and stability, which can enhance performance in snowy conditions. Their ergonomic fit and cushioning help reduce fatigue during extended use, allowing for longer and more enjoyable outdoor activities. Additionally, features like lightweight materials and efficient traction systems improve maneuverability and grip on various snow surfaces, making it easier to navigate through challenging terrain. Overall, comfort plays a crucial role in maintaining focus and energy while enjoying winter adventures.

Snow shoes designed for casual use typically prioritize comfort and ease of use, making them suitable for light trails and recreational walking. These models often feature a simpler design, lighter materials, and a focus on stability for leisurely outings. In contrast, snow shoes intended for more intense activities are built for durability and performance, often incorporating advanced materials and features like enhanced traction and support for navigating challenging terrains. These options are better suited for hiking, backcountry exploration, or more rigorous winter sports.

When choosing comfortable snow shoes for various winter activities, consider the type of terrain and the specific activity you plan to engage in, such as hiking, running, or casual walking. Look for features like adjustable bindings for a secure fit, lightweight materials for ease of movement, and adequate traction for stability on snow and ice. Additionally, ensure that the snow shoes provide enough flotation for deep snow while being compact enough for packed trails. Comfort is also enhanced by selecting options with cushioned footbeds and breathable materials to keep your feet warm and dry.

When considering the fit and comfort of snow shoes, it's important to ensure that they provide adequate support and stability for your feet. Look for models that offer adjustable straps or bindings to secure your foot comfortably without causing pressure points. Additionally, consider the weight and flexibility of the snow shoes, as these factors can impact your overall comfort during extended use. Finally, make sure to try them on with the type of socks you plan to wear, as this can affect the fit and warmth.

When selecting comfortable snow shoes, it's important to consider the season and the specific conditions you will encounter. In winter, look for features that provide insulation and waterproofing to keep your feet warm and dry. Additionally, consider the terrain; snow shoes designed for deep powder may differ from those suited for packed trails. Always ensure that the fit allows for layering of socks to enhance comfort and warmth during colder months.
