I got this hat because the brim is slightly smaller than my full on sun hat, so it ’s not as awkward to wear in the car or indoors, but still provides a good amount of sun protection. I got the goldenrod color, and it ’s a little darker in person, but still a cool color. It does seem to run a little small compared to my other hats of the same size, so if you ’ re in between sizes, probably best to size up. Oh, and the sunglasses holder is awesome! After having them in a couple of sun hats, I would never want to buy one without.

So, this is my signature hat. I am a female fishing guide and it took me a long time to find the right hat. The Vivian is THAT hat. I am hard on my hats, so I 'll say I go through one of these hats every 2- 3 years. Things I love about this hat: The floppiness protects my face and neck from the sun, it's stylish and feminine, I can tighten the stampede strap when the wind kicks up. Things I do n't love: The stampede strap is leather and wears out over time. The bead wears the strap out and Sunday Afternoon have replaced the hat for me because of this, but with my last one, I ended up repairing it myself with a much stronger material. Also, when the hat gets a little wet, it smells like a horse.

[ This is still my favorite hat and has been for 10+ years. I have 4 of them in different colors for working outside on my farm, trail running, hiking and just going out. They never get smelly, i wash and hang dry( less frequently than i probably should) and they hold up to quite a bit of abuse. Very packable and keeps me warm even when soaked through. [ I love this headband. This is the fourth one I have purchase. The first one I purchase was around 2012. It is fraying, and after receiving the new one, I realized how flat it was, but it held up well for a decade. I bought a second one around 2016. I bought it because one was not enough for colder weather. That might sound like a negative, but I like layering these. They are flat, and I always keep them in the breast pocket of my jacket. When I need one, I wear it. When I need more warmth, I add another. It's layering for your head. I think they are remarkably warm for as thin as they are. For years I rode my bicycle to work, and I did n't stop during the cold months. The great thing about these headbands is I can adjust my helmet a little bigger and wear one or two of these underneath. The third one I bought recently will replace the one I have had since 2010. The fourth one I just purchased is for me wife. It 'll will be her first one, but she really likes mine, so I bought her one. Even though it is wool, it is not itchy. This is a great headband, and I highly recommend it.

I love boonie hats, but the Sport Hat can keep out all angles of sunlight. It is feathery light on your head, but it is still rugged. This is my third one as others finally wore out or got damaged. This hat will stay in place in a strong wind if you cinch down the chin strap. I wear it kayaking on big expanses of water with no wind break. The L/XL hat fit me well. I hope that Sunday Afternoons keeps selling these hats forever.
