Big fan of the deck boot for paddling/portaging but lacks support for walking and hiking for prolonged amount of time. The sport covers these faults and makes it feel very comfortable and running shoe like. Not to mention they look slick and not many people have them which makes it a unique look here in Ontario…we will see how long that lasts.

They boots say insulated but there doesn'tseem to be muchand if they is it's minimal. Only issue is the insole is sub- par and will have to be replaced as it has bunched up from walking. Very easy to slip on and secure once on your foot. This can be difficult to achieve with a slip- on boot, but these nail it. The rubber material is completely waterproof, and the bottom tread is excellent on icy surfaces. If you live in a cold, coastal area( Maine, Alaska, Nova Scotia, etc) these will be a lifesaver in the winter months. First pair I ordered online was n't the size I ordered so I took them back to the local store and they ordered me the correct pair. The store manager did me a solid and gave me an extra discount for the hassle. I 've yet to wear the boots in the stream but have no doubt I will thoroughly enjoy them. The boot is fairly lightweight and rugged. Very simple boot without much to it. Fits true to size and is able to lace up securely. Not as stiff as most other wading boots. I like that it has the metal rivets along the eyelights for the laces. These boots appear as if they were made to last. I would recommend this boot to others. It was a tad bulkier than what it appears in the picture, but not excessively so. Fits well with a lot of good support. Easy to walk in for a long day of fishing.

I give these 5 stars as I have put somewhere around 300 days or more fishing my first pair of these and have put 20 or so on a second because the sole cracked on the first. I fish the Rio Grande in New Mexico several days a year crawling on the volcanic rock, boulders, cactus, sage and they have held up to it. I have tortured these boots and they held as long as any other guides much more expensive boots. I only wish I could get them with about a 3rd the volume as I have a size 13 B foot and have to fill lots of space with wading socks. Even still I bought a second pair.

Used them for a week long trip that was mostly walk/wading and in and out of a drift boat. The grip is great and the lightweight feel of the boots makes them very comfortable. Not much of a break in period though the ankles are a little stiff at first. Can definitely feel the softer inner sole grip the pointed rocks compared to the stiffer outer sole, which helps them feel a bit like hiking boots. Would highly recommend them.

They look even better than the photos, the grey as not so boring. These look sharp. The boot materials are premium, but the boa wire is not as heavy duty as I expected. It is a very thin and flexible, I hope it does not snap or fray over time. I bought men's size 13. They are roomy, even with neoprene footies and wool socks. But when submerged did pressurize a bit. This seemed to help with comfort especially on the toes. I can not get the boa as tight as I am accustomed to with traditional laces. First time out I felt myself being cautious because they are not as stable in that regard. I would n't say I am swimming in them but definitely a relaxed fit. I think it will just take some getting used to. I 'd be curious to see how a 12 would fit but did n't have the chance to try them on. All the recommendations were to size up from regular shoe. The felt sole is thinner than some other brands. The rubber was nice for walking and one of the rivers I go to is mostly sand so perfect for that. I had more trouble getting one of the orange tabs back in, it would not snap in properly. I had to use a screwdriver.

Started with a pair of field and stream brand boots, lasted 2 years. Then went for a pair of orvis Clearwater that lasted only 1 year before the heel started to wear out and damage my waders. These simms boots seem like they will outlive both of the previous pair. They are so rugged and sturdy. I love that the whole boot is made of a thick rubber. The boots go so far up the ankle that you have so much support. I will start by saying these are the best pair of boots I have ever owned for wading and I would highly recommend these boots. They are very comfortable with excellent support and great traction. I also purchased a pack of the hardbite studs which work great. I were a size 12 shoe and I purchased a size 12 boot and they fit perfectly with my waders. I have only used them a few times so far so not sure how they will hold up. But so far so good. They still look brand new lol. I would give simms a 5 out of 5 on these. I ’ m sure there higher line boots are amazing as well but for a more mid priced boot these are definitely worth it to me.

These boots replace my old Simms Leather Guide Boots, which are twenty years old and still serviceable. Incredible boots, comfortable to hike in and the fit is great. Follow the Simms sizing guidelines and you should be good to go. Sent a photo of the boots with me wearing my Simms Guide pant waders. [ I bought these when my old boots finally fell apart. I actually bought a number of different boots to try them on and these topped the bunch in terms of fit and weight. So I returned the others and the next test was how these operated in use and the passed with flying colors. I picked a 2. 5mile hike in that had varied terrain from gravel to lots of rocks to a fair bit of scrambling to get to the good holes. These performed very well. The soles are stiff enough to support walking across the rocky bottom and not risk an ankle but supple enough to feel the terrain and grippy enough to feel secure and not slip. I noticed the weight( or lack thereof) after 7 hours of hiking, fishing, exploring- my legs and feet felt great. They shed mud and silt very well and finally they dried quickly. I 'm very happy with this purchase and would recommend this boot to anyone looking.

I have been wearing these boots for 45 plus years. I do not have one single complaint. I have nothing but the highest praise for these boot and would and have recommend them.

They used to be XtraTuf. Everybody called them Alaska sneakers because everywhere you go, somebody is wearing tufs. The quality went downhill a little bit after they stopped manufacturing them in the USA but overall they '' re still a decent boot. I 've had the composite toe and the regular 15 '' legacy boots for over a decade, the 're more comfortable than a muck boot in my opinion and better for working on boats than most other rubber boots. As a fishing guide I always have a pair with me, it's always raining in Alaska.

I chose these boots because the other two pairs I was interested in( Legacy Altitude& Legacy NXT Ice) Xtratuf decided to discontinue. They did the job, kept my feet dry and my toes protected, though I wish they had a more aggressive tread because this version easily fills with sand and snow.

I have been wearing these boots for several months. As with all of my Xtratuf shoes and boots that are very comfortable. The sole on this style is great for the slick surfaces I have encountered. They are my go to boot. My other Xtratuf boots have been worn for years before I have to replace them. I would expect that will be the same for these.

I bought two pair of these for Christmas presents. One for myself and one for my father in law… haven ’ t had too harsh weather this winter, so the boots haven ’ t been “ tested ” too much… the previous reviews weren ’ t too positive, but hoping “ flaws ” have been fixed!!! I gave an Original Pair of XTRTUF ’s from working in Alaska 40 years ago and they are still plugging along!!!

I hike dogs and these boots get tested for real and have earned their name, I am glad i purchased these. Suggested improvements, Grittier longer lasting tread, my tread has been smoothed out to almost like a deck shoe. make it a true big boy shoe, not a little baby puff around town in your landcruiser shoe:)

Big step forward in comfort on the boat. ... I use them flyfishing, they keep my feet dry while getting in and out of the raft( obviously not very tall boots, so need to be sure of the depth), but I have been very satisfied with this

Received a couple days ago as a striper guide I get to really test the durability and so far extend. The Shoes performed very well draining after catching bait and were very comfortable moving around the vessel working piles hooks and pulling in fish. Very happy with the product. Thank you.

Probably couldve gone a half/full size down they are a tad large compared to others but perfect to wear with my extra thick wading socks. Shoes are light weight and have good traction for wet wading Colorado rivers.
