This is one of the favorite rods I 've owned. I do alot of creek fishing mostly for bass but you can catch just about everything with these rods. Ca n't go wrong with a 7ft mh and the fast tip action is perfect for any occasion. Rod is durable and reels are well made. The reels that come with the combo are a little too big for what I like to use but they are nice reels. I still use them to catfish every now and then but prefer a 3000 size so I set the others aside. I o was n four of these combos and I 'm happy with each one.

Casting it was smooth and the only backlashes I experienced was just due to inexperience. After I dialed everything in, I used my thumb to cast and did n't experience any backlash. I purchased the 30 for my daughter about a month ago to go with her Stratus rod. She wanted pink braid but we could only find 15lb line so we spooled it up and threw a topwater on it and tested it out. To both of our amazement, she casted a good 35 yards on her first cast which is about double of what she was capable of with her old reel using the same rod and line brand. We switched rods keeping the same line and again, 30- 35 yards easy. I know there are a few factors when casting, but the only change made was the reel. This led me to believe that this reel made a huge difference for her. This is probably one of the best purchases for fishing equipment by far. Not to mention, the employee in the fishing section at the Summerville, SC location recommended it. Smooth casting, lightweight, very sleek, definitely recommend picking one up.

I use this set up for lightweight and finesse type fishing such as skipping senkos under docks, drop shot fishing or throwing weightless texas rigs around. Will say this reel feels really smooth and can cast a great distance without much weight. Skipping under docks is way easier with this reel also because of how smooth it is. It casts nice and far, and the reel feels solid. The rod itself hasn ’ t given me any issues and is super sensitive. I wouldnt say this is a `` lady '' combo as its really geared towards children. So, that could be misleading. The button to cast needs to be depressed quite deliberately and firm, something my 6 yr old had some trouble with. She loved the color and that it was a larger rod than her previous rod. Regardless of the price being so cheap at 60$, it handles like a 150$ combo I just recently snapped mine but ive owned it since 2018 and have landed many many big fish on it. I ’ ve caught many bass over 4 pounds, big pickeral, big crappie, even a 10 lb catfish and it held up to it all. The one thing that got to it was a log in which I pulled back too hard and snapped it( I ’ m pretty sure I had damaged it previously to that moment) so with that being said it was my fault not the rods.
