I purchased the 30 for my daughter about a month ago to go with her Stratus rod. She wanted pink braid but we could only find 15lb line so we spooled it up and threw a topwater on it and tested it out. To both of our amazement, she casted a good 35 yards on her first cast which is about double of what she was capable of with her old reel using the same rod and line brand. We switched rods keeping the same line and again, 30- 35 yards easy. I know there are a few factors when casting, but the only change made was the reel. This led me to believe that this reel made a huge difference for her. This is probably one of the best purchases for fishing equipment by far. I bought it last night, i got it spool with 15 pound pline flouro, set the tension knob were the lure falls slow big key to prevent backlash cast it with 12 mph wind towards my face for 3 hours not one single backlash. Do not listen to the manual on how to set the tension knob. Smooth retrieve compare to the regular slx you guys will notice that.

I made a decision to purchase this reel because they were on sale. I am a Shimano guy. I bought one and put it on my most abused application. 65 pound braid. On my frog rod. One year later I purchased 2 more due to apparent toughness of the first. Put them on my second and third most used rods. Fast forward two more years, I have replaced all of my Shimano reels. And do n't expect to look back. Cost is 30 to 40 percent lower than the Shimano reels. Thank you for making the choice to keep these reels in an affordable price.

I 've always been a Shimano go to for years, and always will be, but was looking for a 2000 light reel for jigging and Shimano just does not have it in this price range with a larger high gear for more torque. I was using a 2500 Ultegra but it's just too heavy for long days of jigging. Tried to use a Stradic 1000 and it works but feels underpowered and with 6lb it's not ideal. Been using the Tatula 2000 model for inshore jigging with 6lb line and I ca n't fault it jigging for 5- 6 hours non stop being so light. The only gripe is the handle has a tiny bit of play but nothing a shim ca n't resolve. I changed the handle to a black Titanium Gomexus with ceramic bearings and now it's perfect. I am critical of my reels and I have many including the 22 Stradic and Stella as well as other lower model Diawa's. This is an extraordinary reel in how it feels. The shaft feels that it's spinning on air when turning the handle, something my other reels do n't feel like. It's really an amazing feeling. The reel never has failed once in operation and is very light. Line management is excellent but need to add a washer to get the line lay to not taper on the top from how it came originally.

Left hand wind is a must for me. I am right handed but never figured out why so many people choose to cast with their right hand and then switch hands so they can wind with their right hand. The size and weight are also just right as I mainly fish for striped bass and blue catfish with this reel perfect on a seven foot medium action rod and 15 lb. test mono. I have only been able to go fishing twice since purchasing this reel. I put it on my teenage daughter's rod the first time and then fixed the reel that was on her rod for the next time. After the second trip, I had to switch back to the Zebco. It cast very smoothly and far, plus she had no problem reeling the fish either. Great reel, I just bought another Zebco.

Used to have the last model of 10k Saragosa SW. Was too big to cast or hold all day, so sold it and recently bought the 6k Saragosa SW A. Love it. Smooth and light and casts well. That said the 6k has limited line capacity. Fishing for pelagic species off the kayak in SE Florida the 8k or 10k makes more sense so may buy one for next trip down. Hard to find at local stores so online seems like the only way to get one.
