Just a little over three years ago, I made the switch from monofilament to Power Pro ’s braid. One of my first experiences using Power Pro was when 10 LB braid hauled in a massive, 8- foot log in the strong current of a stream. I was astounded at its strength, and this served as an indicator of how it would perform over the next few years. The sensitivity with this braid is unbelievable. You will be able to feel every bite, every rock, every weed, and every time you touch the bottom. Additionally, the No- stretch allows you to instantly set the hook on fish, giving them no wiggle room and providing an instant- action feel that is awesome. Over my three years of using PowerPro, I can only remember twice when a fish broke me off. That is incredible considering how many fish I ’ ve successfully caught in that time frame. With other types of line, I can ’ t imagine how many fish I would ’ ve lost. This stuff is the standard for a reason. It ’s high quality and its strength is unmatched. I ’ ll likely stick with it for life. 10/10.

This stuff has been impossible to find in stores. I always had to order it. As with most people that fish a lot( 4+ times a week), we tend to be very particular about things. I have rods with braid, mono, and Florida for different applications. The ML spinning reels normally got 8lb Ande mono which has been great, but I always wanted something with less stretch. Small twitchbaits usually mean some line slack, which really plays havoc with braid after a while, especially in the wind. I really like the sufix advance. Lower stretch than regular mono, very supple, very smooth, decently tough, overall a great line. For the price, I think everyone should try it.

This is the best nonbraided line ever. Has less stretch than flouro and is more sensitive. Has extreme abrasion resistance but casts really well and far. Sufix hit a home run with this line. I just wish Dick's would have the green in stores.

Use this line alot it is easy to cast and very strong and sensitive for feeling light bites. I use the 4- 6- 8lb line so I ca n't comment on the heavier lines but I have pulled up quite a few branches off the bottom without the line breaking or the knot failing! Of course I have caught many nice sized bass and pickerel on this line. I really reccomend this line for finnese fishing nedrig and neko rig and many other applications. Have no idea why this line is not available in bulk spools but I hope they will at some time! Try this line it is really good line!

Fish a lot for Smallmouth in the local rivers. This stuff holds up great in 6 lb. on light equipment. It takes a lot of punishment and holds a knot. Never lost a hooked fish yet to breakage or slipping a tie. Good feel of everything.

I just noticed that no one has reviewed this fine line! I 've used it for a few seasons now for Lake Trout, Salmon and Walleyes and it is the best line I have ever used, and I 've used alot! It ties nice, does n't tangle when pulled off the reel, lays flat on the water and I 've caught some nice fish and lost less that one hand count over the years because of line failure. I 've had hooks pull right out of the lure but the knot and line held. I use 12 lb for salmon w/6 or 8 lb leader( same type as main line) and 17 lb for lake trout w/12 or 14 lb leader. I respool 8 rods every year and always did when I used Brand X but the results are definitely better with Trilene XT low vis monofilament.

After using Spider wire EZ braid i was not impressed by Spider Wire at all. But after using this i fell in love, very strong and durable! After a fishing trip fighting 9 bass it held true and hardly lost the color like the EZ braid did. This is probaly not the greatest braid out there but for what i need it for it's amazing! Would recommend to anyone who fishes 1- 2 times a week.

I have tried almost every type of line Spiderwire makes and this is by far my favorite. Casting is among the farthest if used and the color is fantastic.
For bottom fishing, braided lines are often preferred due to their strength and sensitivity, allowing anglers to feel even the slightest bites. Monofilament lines can also be effective, offering good stretch and buoyancy, which can help in certain conditions. Fluorocarbon lines are another option, as they are less visible underwater and provide excellent abrasion resistance. Choosing the right line depends on factors such as the type of fish targeted, the fishing environment, and personal preference.
When choosing a fishing line for bottom fishing techniques, consider the type of line that best suits your fishing environment and target species. Braided lines are often favored for their strength and sensitivity, allowing for better detection of bites and improved control. Additionally, consider the line's test strength, which should match the weight of the fish you are targeting, and the visibility of the line in the water, as this can affect your success. Lastly, think about the conditions you will be fishing in, such as structure and depth, to select a line that can withstand potential snags and abrasion.
Braided fishing lines are known for their strength and sensitivity, making them ideal for bottom fishing where detecting bites is crucial. They have a thinner diameter compared to monofilament lines, allowing for better casting distance and less visibility in the water. Monofilament lines, on the other hand, offer more stretch, which can be beneficial for absorbing shock when reeling in fish. They are also easier to handle and knot, making them a popular choice for many anglers.
When selecting fishing line strength for bottom fishing, consider the type of fish you are targeting and the conditions of the fishing environment. Heavier lines are often necessary for larger species and rocky or snag-prone areas, while lighter lines may be suitable for smaller fish in clearer waters. Additionally, think about the type of fishing rod and reel you are using, as they should be compatible with the line strength for optimal performance. Lastly, consider the line's material, as different materials offer varying levels of sensitivity and abrasion resistance.
When selecting fishing lines for bottom fishing, many anglers prefer braided lines due to their strength and sensitivity. Braided lines are often made from high-quality synthetic fibers, which provide excellent durability and resistance to abrasion. Monofilament lines can also be effective, offering stretch that can help absorb sudden movements. Ultimately, the choice of material may depend on personal preference and the specific fishing conditions.
Line diameter plays a crucial role in bottom fishing as it influences both sensitivity and visibility. Thinner lines can provide better sensitivity, allowing anglers to feel subtle bites and changes in the environment. However, a thicker line may offer increased strength and durability, which can be beneficial when reeling in larger fish or navigating rocky bottoms. Ultimately, the choice of line diameter should align with the specific fishing conditions and target species.
Braided lines offer several advantages for bottom fishing. They are known for their high strength-to-diameter ratio, allowing anglers to use thinner lines without sacrificing strength, which can enhance sensitivity and improve bite detection. Additionally, braided lines have minimal stretch, providing better hook-setting power and control when reeling in fish. Their durability and resistance to abrasion make them suitable for rocky or snag-prone environments often encountered in bottom fishing.
Yes, you can use the same fishing line for both bottom fishing and other fishing styles, as long as the line's strength and type are suitable for the conditions and species you are targeting. Many anglers prefer braided lines for their sensitivity and strength, which can be beneficial for various fishing techniques. However, it's important to consider factors such as the water depth, type of bait, and the specific environment when selecting a line for different fishing styles. Adjusting your line choice based on these factors can enhance your overall fishing experience.
The recommended line length for bottom fishing setups typically ranges from 150 to 300 yards, depending on the type of fishing and the depth of the water. A longer line allows for better reach and the ability to cover more area, while a shorter line may be sufficient for shallower waters. It's important to consider the specific conditions and target species when determining the ideal line length for your setup.
The visibility of fishing line can play a significant role in bottom fishing success. In clear water conditions, using a low-visibility line can help avoid spooking fish, making them more likely to bite. Conversely, in murky waters, a more visible line may not deter fish as much, as they rely on other senses to locate bait. Ultimately, selecting the right line visibility based on water conditions can enhance your chances of a successful catch.
