I did spend on my normal Olympic bar but got this one to save money and get skull crushers in. First thing I did was a practice curl and noticed the noise. Shot some Blaster into the gaps on each end( pic) and no more squeak. Definitely glad I did n't pay more for this type of item. I was told I could use baseball batting gloves too, but I wanted something more fitness oriented. The fingertip `` swipe pads '' I thought were a joke, until i actually used them. I suggest trying them on before buying, I ended up buying a smaller size than i thought for a more snug fit. and the padding in the palms and materials are good.

This is a very durable, flexible, and elegant dumbbell set. You can adjust the weight by adding or subtracting weight plates, which means that one pair of dumbbells allows you to do many different exercises. Yes, it takes a minute to screw the collars on and off to change weights-- but you need to rest a minute between sets anyway. And you can screw the collars on snuggly so that the weight plates do n't rattle around like other quick- adjust dumbbell sets( and this set costs far less). Finally, the plastic case is a nice touch if you need to put the weights away when the grand kids come over for a play date.
